I remember my best mate getting Shenmue for Christmas in '99 and being very impressed at the time with its 'living' game world, although I didn't really experience much more than a few parts of the game overall.

I've been playing the PS4 port over the holiday break and just finished it last night, I really enjoyed the experience. I think I probably rushed through it a bit too much though and reading up on the game afterwards I realised I missed a few time-sensitive cut scenes. I'll probably start Shenmue 2 this weekend.
