AFAIK he only entered 1 big tournament this way (Guilty Gear Xrd REV 2 at Canada Cup 2018)

he made top 8, beat Dogura who's a well known Japanese player, and then lost his next match so he made 5/6th.

it's less interesting you think, he was basically just using the dpad and buttons on the front of the wheel, and maybe the paddle shifters for some macros (they probably act as the L2/R2 or L3/R3 buttons, depending on the wheel).

he didn't turn the wheel to move or anything.

All I see of him now is playing Football Manager on Steam. He has several thousands of hours in that game.

Most arcade sticks/cabinets have a stick and 6 buttons right? It's just a pad version of that, basically. A lot of games on the Saturn were arcade ports, and a lot of those games used more than 3 buttons. Not a fighting game, but I'm pretty sure Radiant Silvergun used all 6 buttons for the different weapons, might be remembering that wrong though.

Plenty of non-Capcom fighting games over the years have either used 6 buttons, or required pressing multiple buttons at the same time. Samurai Showdown 1+2 for example used light-medium-heavy slash and kick

Radiant Silvergun is just one arcade game that's designed to use 6 buttons, there's plenty more

I've gotten very accustomed to playing a lot of games with the Saturn pad and the only thing I wish of it was to have similarly sized XYZ buttons. I am not a super player of games but I am pretty much alright with my execution in some games like Zero2 with it (I'm on P2 side with a few of my non-mains): https://youtu.be/tiBrDC7XUQ0

That's surprising, too bad for me I guess, I could use your insight. The M30 is a solid controller, but sometimes I miss diagonal inputs doing QCFs in FGs, and I want to know if the Saturn has any such problem, or if I just need to git gud.
