br here.
the whole "omg master system is still popular in Brazil!" is actually a meme. Yes we do have a manufacturer called tectoy who has the license for sega stuff and yes they kept making master systems (as well as mega drive), but master system was never as popular as memes made you believe it was. In actual times when it could have been popular it was vastly overshadowed by famiclones (which can't be calculated in quantities sold for obvious pirate reasons, but believe me, for every kid who had a master, 50 had a famiclone).
Master system was mostly the low cost sega console aunts and grandmas would get when kids asked for "the Sega" (meaning the mega drive, which is what kids wanted in the 90s, not the Master)
By the late 90s/early 00s, chipped playstations were super affordable thanks to very cheap bootleg games, and K62 computers let everyone play games on PC for cheap also thanks to piracy (and cyber cafes with LAN)
Master system was never a real mvp as people were made to believe. Sorry for breaking the illusion of brazil being magical master system land.

>"designed in and for South American slums"
Her drawings were made at a time there was nearly no slums in Brazil and kids could go play outside. The places from the comic now can only be compared to very small brazilian cities in the south with a large rural area. At that time most of Brazil was a paradise compared to what is now to the point that the creator would not even bother in adapting it to this new hue decay we see now..

Not popular, but I liked "My Hero" for a neat little side-scrolling beat-em-up.

The Master System Choplifter is really good.
Alex the Kid (the build in one) is a classic. Golvellius for a fun zelda-ish game mixed with a side-scroller. Both Fantasy Zones are fun, and Wonder Boy 3 might be the most developed game on the system.

Mark 3 would be the one I would like the most because of the looks but the Japanese sms has fm built in but then many of the games you try to play with change the language.

>>8434150
You could make the argument that sms had more original games like alex kidd and the 3d games. With DC a lot of the games are just on pc.

When I was a kid my parents would sometimes buy a game, one day they got Heroes of the lance, after a couple of hours we just could not figure out what we supposed to do so we got something else. Years later play it again and still don't really know what you are supposed to do.

Child exploitation material means1 material that, in a way likely to cause
offence to a reasonable adult, describes or depicts a person, or a
representation of a person, who is, or apparently is, a child under 16 years—
(a) in a sexual context, including for example, engaging in a sexual
activity; or

custody, or under control.4
2. The defendant knowingly possessed the material.
It is necessary for the prosecution to prove that the defendant knew that he
had the material in his possession, that is, a guilty knowledge of having
possession of the offending material is an essential element of the offence.5

Not even the same developers. It is a Master System port to a MSX2 game. The only big difference are that the stage layouts are not similar to the ones on the MSX2 game and there is a level completely missing from the Master System port. The Game Gear port is even shorter and with less levels. I think the MSX2 and SMS version are worth trying out.
