A lot of people seem to complain about the difficulty.

>> No.8420532

It was so difficult that simba committed suicide.

To the detriment of the game?

the ostrich part was an annoying gimmick, why put that shit on the second level
thankfully there were cheat codes to pick the level you wanted

>> No.8420597

It's that one fucking level where you're on an ostrich or something. There's a jump where you have to double jump over a tree branch, but you've got NO fucking clue where the collision box is, at all.

Rest of the game is alright though.

Must have been a suggestion from the play testers kek

I only played the Genesis version but it is bullshit hard. Not the fun hard either, the cheap hard.

>> No.8420846

I love it, though I may be biased because I grew up with it, so there's nostalgia involved, and I can understand why many dislike its difficulty. I never beat it as a kid, it was just too difficult, but nowadays as an adult, and with the help of guides and videos if I ever needed them, which is another thing I didn't even know how to look up as a kid, I managed to beat it quite a few times, on hard difficulty even.

I'd say that one of the things that helped me was playing the Genesis version, because it has a wider resolution, which lets me see ahead with ease compared to the SNES version, this is especially helpful in the ostrich section on level 2. One of the things that messes most peoples' experiences is getting stuck on level 2, so I'll try to help with that. On the ostrich section, when there's a double jump, hit the jump button twice in quick succession, don't wait a second before the jumps, do one immediately after the other. Also, when you have to swing on the hippo tails, don't, it's possible to skip by jumping on the noses of the hippos above, the collision detection in the tails is awful.

>it's possible to skip by jumping on the noses of the hippos above
Only works in the Genesis version

>> No.8421750

2nd level is easy, the part that filtered me as a kid is the lava level as adult simba. That bullshit hit detection on the piece of floor over the lava, these bats also with bad hitboxes, that bullshit thing at the end where you need to wait to get out of the level.
To be fair not many of the levels in this game are really that fun.

I got this game when I was in first grade, and beat it hundreds of times. I don't recall if being difficult in the slightest.

the double jump was by far the worst part.

but also on the GEN version, for some reason if you press a certain combination of buttons, the game will reset itself back to the main screen losing your progress. its happened to me more than once. fuck

>start getting good at the first level and learn the mechanics
>now have to time jumps on an ostrich
>no idea when to jump
>everything is bright orange and pink
>uhhhhhh okay
>wait 20 years
>look up a youtube guide
>still dont understand what I need to avoid
>find a photo with a drawing of the hit boxes
>still can't complete it
>after an hour finally complete it
>die at next level

Fuck this game

I beat this when I was like 11. I don't even understand the monkey/ostrich complaint. It tells you point blank at the start to roar at the monkeys and then it's just trial and error to learn which ones toss you where. A half hour max and you should have memorized it.
