If there's an embargo they'll still wait for the peak usage hours in their target market, not just dump it at a random time all at the same time. The even sadder fact is that nowadays all the reviewers and 'journalists' are such marks that the company doesn't even have to pay them, just sending the free product to them is enough because they feel special, and also if they say anything too negative they are worried they'll be cut off and lose their connection 'to the industry'. for me, the issue with original hardware is the screen. I have both an SP and a mother 3 micro. The SP screen has way too much motion blur and the micro is just too small of a device to use comfortably

Like I said I've tried a lot of different options and in fact have both an SP with an AGS-101 screen, and an SP with one of those v2 IPS mods. The AGS 101 screen has too much motion blur, and while the IPS mod screen has far less blue, it has weird image retention issues when it comes to fast scrolling or flickering sprites that's super annoying when playing games like Sonic Advance. The mlig video goes into this issue directly, and mention the pocket doesn't exhibit the same problem

My only interest is the video-out options and i think i rather just be stubborn enough to buy some junk systems and get a mod kit for em for that.

If you're buying "out-of-the-box" stuff, then you're probably fucked, because that kind of manufacturers tend to make products as cheaply as possible (after all, most of the buyers don't know better) and with zero regard to flexibility. I believe all analogue devices play ROMs. It'll probably have 16bit cores eventually but no, doesn't launch with them. Also even when it does I doubt the SNES core would support special chip games due to the limited size of the FPGA they're using
