I've not played that game you posted, but I'm a big Star Fox fan, but the SNES game is my favorite. I feel that 64 has a lot of waiting around and it's too slow for me. While the SNES game technically runs slower, it feels way more frantic. I guess I haven't played enough of 64 on hard mode.

Probably more like 64. It’s got more in line with the original but it’s still a much less speedy game than that. There’s no boss dialogue or 2 minute segments where you can’t do anything but there’s still some stuff like waiting for a boss to show up and doing an animation. Still, you can clear the game in about 40 minutes so I’d say give it a look regardless cause it’s still a great shooter

Solid gameplay and controls. Nintendo didn't fucking care at that point, they just wanted to sell shiny shit so they didn't need to actually worry about gameplay much.
And this is why gaming died. Sony and Nintendo viral marketed that shit to you all and you fell for it, hook line and sinker. Sega tried to save gaming but you had to go for the shit consoles with the shit games.

I admit that I've only played the first PD but SF64 is so much more cozy and atmospheric. Plus the N64 controller is optimized for rail shooters, I never had or knew anyone with a 3D Saturn pad.
