Hello /vr/. My good friend and I are looking to buy an additional retro console. Suggestions? NES, SNES, N64 are out of the question, we already possess them.

Dreamcast is a decent choice, as it's got a decent selection of co-op and party-games that rivals the N64.

On a budget/don't want to spend high sums ?
Go for Sega Genesis
Want the best 2D fighting games on retro?
Go for the Sega Saturn
Want ahead of it's time power system/somthing eccentric?
Neo Geo or 3DO

Anything but a dreamcast.

Another choice would be if you are wanting the best library size and that would be the PS1

Game Goy. A massive library full of more fun games than you can shake a sheckle at

well what do you and your bf like?
it's kinda of a shot in the dark not knowing what you guys are craving.

You're kidding right? Dreamcast was a good system.

I (Z) was thinking of the Neo Geo, the controller looked amazing, built for fighting games.

>> No.836372

I would suggest go handheld(s). GB color has a very good library to explore and you could get two systems for under $40

Yea, we're looking to not spend an arm and a leg.

It was a silly joke. I didn't expect you to be insecure to the point you address that but not give us any info on what type of games you play.

anything that's good, and you would suggest. i used to browse /b/, sorry, that's why I jumped

just stop
it's not even counted as retro so it's not worth the argument.

>dreamcast isn't retro meme
I wish people would stop this already.

Don't go Ne Geo or 3DO then. Stick with either the PS or Genesis

Considering if you have access to a CD-burner and CD-R's, every game on the DC is free, that's a very viable option. And the consoles themselves are still pretty cheap to buy, generally speaking.

Gameboy Color or SP

I didn't mean it in the meme sense. It's sated in the stick that it doesn't count now so let's just avoid shitfest arguments about how good/bad it was.

Genesis is your safest bet
It's very unlikely any of the titles will go over $20. Most are under $10.

>> No.836416

>>836409
yea. my other friend has one, he might sell. got like 30 games too.

>> No.836430

>>836416
I'd get on him to sell it, the Genesis has a great library for 2P and co-op games

If you want to know the Land Before Time song's secret then go with N64

Vectrex or PS1

>> No.836505

Defnitely a PS1 dude. Other systems simply can't match that library, and it has plenty of big hits and obscure gems to keep you busy for a while

The anon who suggested an SP was also right. I just can't recommend getting any gameboy incarnation before that one, because I would never play one due to the ridiculous lighting situation. You could also try to get your hands on a super gameboy for your snes.
