Does anyone else like going to the game store? It reminds me of when I was a kid looking through the isles of gamestop or blockbuster, and reading the manuals of the game on the car ride home. Picrel, I just got back from the store.

I'm a bored dude that plays with computers. If you want the password to someone's Snapchat, like you think your partner is cheating on you, or curious about something else, I don't mind trying it out

Ask me on Snapchat @RWestick1

I can be/was fun. I've went hermit-mode though so it's not something I have done in ages. On a slightly unrelated note, Samurai Warriors is such a superb game. Great overall purchase choices.

No. I don't waste money on useless plastic to coomlect that'll die from discrot in a year. Enjoy paying hundreds for old ass games that I can play for free on emulator

I plan on making a run to all the local stores before the holiday shopping really kicks in.
>reading the manuals of the game on the car ride home
Absolutely based.

I hate to respond to bait, but emulators just don't capture the same nostalgia. I'm not a poorfag that has to worry about a few dollars spent on games every few months. I have more money than I know what to do with. Having a physical game that I put into my physical game system makes me appreciate and play the game more. Whenever I play an emulated game, I find that I lose interest much more quickly. Plus, there's the experience of taking a trip to the store, as outlined in the op.

Regardless of all that, why do emulatorfags feel the need to post in every thread, as if emulation is some unknown knowledge that you are spreading to the unwashed masses?

No because it's just a waste of gas to peruse their wares now. Sadly online shopping is the way to go because the stores sell at or above the prices you can find online.

>> No.8356892

>>8356872
I will always buy from a local store if they match online prices for the convenience of leaving with an item right then, in my hands, and giving a local business money. I’m personally even willing to spend a little bit more than online for things in good condition since I can see them there myself. But I’m talking like 10%/$5 depending on total price.

no, because i do everything game related on my pc now.
if i want nostalgic feels i'll do something i actually have another reason to do like go to a movie theater (because i like a movie in a theater), or i'll go to the asian market to get stuff i can't get elsewhere to cook. used to do that as a kid.
yeah i have nostalgia for blockbuster and funcoland or whatever, but if they existed i would have absolutely no reason to go there.
you can't go back. make new thing that you like. play old games because good.

Sadly true. I don't think I got ripped off too hard in the op, but most of the major stuff is really overpriced. They were selling twilight sword for the gc for like... $130. I considered buying the first two .hack games, but they were about 20% overpriced.

Did someone snipe something you were trying to buy on ebay or something? Complaining about people buying games on here pointless. Physical goods > Ethereal digital downloads and blown out endorphin receptors from having multiple game libraries at your beck and call.

I would but the only game store near me sells everything, even shitty late 90s early 2000s sports games, for a 30-50% markup compared to Ebay.

I have never paid more than the original price for any of the games in my modest collection of only titles I actively care about.

I'm 29 with a wife and we're expecting a son in February. That said, my wife doesn't play video games aside from Mario Party and Wario Land 3, and I won't be letting my son play games until he's at least five. Who knows what gaming, modern or retro will look like at that point.
Anyway, we're skulking around this board.

Let me guess. Bugs are cheaper and you still get the same nutrients as meat?

Good scores on all the above OP! Samurai Warriors is fun but some of the campaigns are insanely frustrating, Oichi is the only one I had the patience to beat.

I hit the local game store sunday with my gf too and got some new stuff to play. there's a real charm to browsing through a game store

I fucking adore it. I love finding sub-$10 games that I’ve never heard of and taking them back home to try them. Always a good time.

I know I’m never going to get a good price on anything in demand but there’s nothing like getting to tell your friends about a cool cheap game you found and having them over to try it. I emulate when I need tk but roms could never replicate this experience

I enjoy going to markets and/or buying from charity shops more since you can end up getting something cheaper than it's worth.
The problem with game stores is that the store already knows how much the games are worth, you aren't going to be paying less than top price for boxed SNES/GBA games.
