Stellar Assault is pretty fun.

I just bought a Saturn with a bunch of games so I'll be monitoring this thread. People say the prices are bad but that seems like it's mainly a problem with the shoot 'em ups, especially the Treasure games

I really want a copy of pu li ru la, its probably one of the most expensive beat em ups on the saturn

My Chinese cart somehow decided to stop being a RAM cartridge.

I'm wondering if Pseudo Saturn Kai did it or it just stopped working right.

I think I need a new one.

You can do it anon. It's worth learning for retro games alone, it opens up an entire new world of games for you.

I had no idea that the Saturn had an EA title. It's probably one of my favorite NES games, so I'm curious of what the Saturn version is like now.

My favourite retro console. Really been meaning to play EAR, thanks for reminding me

>> No.8338535

I'll be honest I don't know what I really like on the platform.

I've been trying to explore it now that I have an ODE but I feel like the Saturn never excelled in any one genre.

My family used to be big SEGAfags and we would call every console a SEGA.

Yeah, these ideas didn't work.

The cart actually does get detected (I can load PSK Lite and also use it as a storage cart), it just won't perform its 4M functions.

My unaltered Action Replay 4M Plus cart I use my US Saturn works in my Japanese ODE'd Saturn so the slot is fine. I think I just fucked it up somewhere by trying to update it.

I probably need to get a new cart. Stupid cheap shit.

Draginforce, rayearth, all the psikyo shooters, most of the capcom games. At the moment in love with 60fps out run, sol divide and 1943. Saturn is best console.

Pseudo Saturn's been updated (didn't fix any of my issues, though).

Fightan games?

>> No.8339634

>>8339589
They are both fine but they have their little idiosyncrasies. Saturn version has loading times between stages and PS2 version is 480i. The xbox version of Taito Lengends 2 supports 480p but I never played it so can't comment on that.

If you want to play it, just stick to arcade emulators like FB Neo or Mame.

I really wanted to like this and its prequel but they're just unplayable - at least through emulation. Actual 20 fps and heavy input lag on top were more than I could handle. Impossible to reliably line up shoots quickly. Surprisingly the fist game has a much deeper and refined control scheme.
