Yeah, it's a good thing.

I have to content with playing a game so many times that I no longer enjoy it, though.

I don't know if I've ever felt "empty" after finishing a good game, but there have been times when I've finished games so good, they kinda ruin all games of lesser quality, making them feel shallow, stupid, or artless, and this feeling can last for a week

If I really like it, yes.
Otherwise I rarely finish games in the first place.

I have more of a mid-game sadness, where I like a game, I want to want to finish it, but I also really want to play some other game, and I either end up abandoning the first game, or forcing myself to finish it in a way where I don't enjoy it as much as I might have. Is this ADD?

I have legit diagnosed adhd and I do that all the time. I can't even force myself to finish. Though sometimes I come back to unfinished games much later and finish them. My usual attention span is 4-5 days at most.

I don't beat games. I don't want the experience to end. I prefer to always have in my mind the mystery of where the world goes, to see the ending of OoT would make me kill myself.

I felt this way in Persona 4. All those memories made, all those friends, my girlfriend Yukiko. I'll never get to see them again. Never have new adventures. Never hear her tell me she loves me again.

I think you people just want your childhood back and are said that attempts to do that are fleeting. Grow the fuck up, get a therapist, take pills, do whatever it takes to fix your psychosis.

Mentally stable people do not feel sad from finishing a game they like. They feel enjoyment and then move onto the next game.

it depends on the game. There are some games that I love but always feel shitty when I finish them purely because I want more. While not retro I feel this way about Max Payne 3.

i'm not convinced that a large swathe of people are "ill" because they feel a certain way when experiencing a game or movie or television show, i know there's substance there to discuss even if you cannot put your finger on it, we can at least tangentially discuss the feeling or vibe

For me, it's Vice city.
