A collaborative ROM hack project for the original NES Legend of Zelda. The hack will feature original assets, a remixed overworld, and brand new dungeons created by anons.

Here is the current state of the overworld. Claim any unclaimed spots on the map and post pics of your designed screen. Using a Zelda 1 map editor will help as screens are designed with columns instead of tiles.

There are two main issues I see with that though

1) changing a room preset changes it for every dungeon
2) the layout of a dungeon could affect the layout of other dungeons

so I have no idea how you'd want to go about that if several people are involved

Using Dungeon Masters I see that the last columns page for dungeons is just empty columns, are those actual unused columns that could be edited and used?

I don't know how to contribute. What program do you use to make the dungeons, edit the game's graphics, etc.? Also, make sure this hack has a deadline for submitting levels, like the /v/orld hacks did, as well as an estimated release date. It's the only way to make sure this gets done.

A character needs to unblock a clogged stream so that water flows out and allows soil to erode, leading to another temple/dungeon.
To do this one needs to find the Hyrule Shovel, the shovel of legend. The shovel is hidden in a shop that you need to renter consecutively 7 times. The shop keeper finally admires your persistence in checking back and reveals the Hyrule Shovel. It costs every rupee you happen to have.
