What do you think the tier list is for the certified retro game, Super Smash Bros. Melee?

>> No.8279990

like all melee tier lists i think people should graduate to fighting games that work properly
jigglypuff, ice climbers and luigi need to be bumped up one spot each. zelda should be mid tier because she has a move that turns her into sheik. ness should also be mid

Why make a tier list for a party game lol

tier lists don't matter for 99% of players
it only matters to pros because they're so good that any small advantage/disadvantage makes a difference at the highest level
this goes for most games, I don't even play melee

If you're interested in playing the game competitively the tiers matter. They determine how much information is out there for your character and they give you a pretty good idea of how many options you have against top tier characters, which constitute like 99 percent of the player base.

its all bullshit because kirby is bottom tier but he's capable of murder/suicide against literally anyone just by dicking around. tier lists for smash only matter if you're playing "correctly" according to the pros

Kirbycide is an easy strategy to beat (neutral b has slow startup and loses to just about everything; the bthrow version requires you to land a grab in the corner as a terrible character). It's not illegal in tournament play or anything, it's just not smart.

And yes, the tier list only applies to the competitive ruleset, although if you played with items on or whatever not much would change. Sheik might get a little better and Marth a little worse, though.

Not to mention that you can actually escape Kirby's back throw, it and his forward throw are the only throws across every Smash game that you can escape from
