It truly is better than Ocarina of Time, not that it's much of an achievement.

This is the best game, most are untranslated but can’t touch it anyway. Most of them are difficult isometric brawler type rpg-lites

None of these games are good. Konami's top designers stayed in castlevania after treasure was created.

Goemon's Great Adventure, followed by this one (though recommended to play this one before GGA). For the SNES ones, it's (1:) Princess Yuki > 2: McGuinness > (4:) Twinkling Journey (Kirakira Dochu) > 3: Jurokobei Shishi. Making my way through the first PS one, Akogingu, but it's really mediocre so far and doesn't feel like the N64 and SNES ones, thematically speaking. Two other PS1 Goemons are supposed to be really good: New Age and Oedo Daikaiten (I'm really looking forward to the latter, in particular). Can't say much about the Game Boy ones, other than Dynamites on GBC is well-loved and the one called "Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon" for Game Boy is well-hated.

Mystical Ninja Starting Goemon sucks because most of the game is spent walking slowly through big empty areas.
Goemons Great Adventure sucks because you have to do a bunch of shit sidequests to earn entry passes.
The SNES games are better.

One of many reasons why Majora's Mask also beats OOT. The camera does suck though, however the boss fights are fun.

I remember enjoying this game when i was like 11 years old. I wanted rpgs and this was before i realized n64 was going to suck mega cock in that department. I dont think i could stomach this game if i tried it today.

Fair enough if you don't like the (extremely soulful and fun) open-world aspects of the N64 ones, even though GGA has some of the most difficult and filtering action segments in the series, but you're defrauding yourself if you're playing Legend of the Mystical Ninja and not rather playing the new DDStranslation of Goemon 1 on SNES

>> No.8275197

>>8272276
That's not a bad idea, really, since the N64 ones reference a lot of the story and characters from the 4 SNES games.

>> No.8275204

>>8272805
MNSG does it better than Ocarina, having many more enemies to fight and secrets to find throughout the landscapes, same as in Goemon 3. Ocarina was a step down from Link's Awakening and even ALttP on this regard, but it has lots of other strong points, obviously.

Mystical Ninja's overworld also has more interesting use of space and verticality, which you can sort of see from this screenshot >>8272590 (there are better examples, but I can't find any screenshots online). Hyrule Field is lame because it's completely flat.
This video also gives a sense of the verticality : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ltCvaMPoyhc

These games are fucking awesome. I really liked the second NES one as confusing as it could get, the humor, presentation and music are top notch, the later specially, it's by Michiru Yamane!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ysITcVPNnRY

SNES 1 and 2 have been great too, can't wait to try 3 4 and the N64 ones, heard good things about all of them. 3 looks pretty different though, does it shift too hard into another direction or is it just replacing the perspective in the "town" levels with a top down one?

This, plus introduces Lucky Cat dolls as heart container pieces (get them all for the best ending, but save getting one to see the regular ending first).

You're retarded and haven't played the game if you don't realize there are NPCs to talk to and enemies to kill in all the exploration areas. There are a handful of areas that are empty for atmosphere, Yamato is one of them, not the usual instance of it.

I never played an N64 game until several years ago, so I have no nostalgia bias. I assume anyone that has OoT as one of their favorite games is either a conformist normalfag or a nostalgia fag.

>> No.8276108

>>8276034
Did you even play it? The atmosphere is the sunset with the awesome music, and it's empty because the villagers haven't been traveling down that road because of all the dragon kidnappings or whatever. The areas that are empty are usually because in the context of the story the villagers are all hiding inside their town or Goemon and crew have stepped into an abandoned region. There are a bunch of other exploration zones that are full of life, with coffee shops you can talk to NPCs in, secrets hidden around the corners, enemies to kill, and so on. There's far more of those areas in the game, the liminal spaces are the minority and they usually have an explanation for being like that, and yes Yamato is more exciting than hyrule field (though there's nothing wrong with Hyrule Field either)
