This article has more details on the press conference. Some highlights:

- Arino said he's like to do the show for another 50 years or so, and that it would take him that long to make CEO.

- The France trip will focus on game shops and arcades in the area.

- Premium seats (with Budokan only goods included) will be 8000 yen, sold from June 22nd to July 7th. Regular seats will be 5000-5500 yen. Arino hasn't been what game it is yet, but it will be one he can likely clear in the event's time limit.

- The new game will be fundamentally the same as the previous ones, but take advantage of the 3DS's hardware. There will be shooting games.

- The movie will likely focus on Arino challenging games, with various other elements mixed in. Kan said they want to gamers in their 30s-40s who love the Famicon.

This just in: the movie is going to be almost a shot-for-shot recreation of the vision one anon posted in this thread.

It will start like a normal episode, until Arino notices something on the screen that only he can see. He will react, the screen will go to black and white and freeze, and the crazy guitar will sound.

Usually things like this are determined by the company, not the translators or license holders (aka Diskotek). Usually the staff working on the DVDs gets a packet from the company who owns the show. This packet basically tells them what to translate certain terms as. It's likely that the staff were told to keep Kacho. I'm sure zari-gani would know.

As for LCGCCX, the main translator is busy with real life work. He is apparently a professional Japanese translator.

As for SAGCCX, I have no idea. They promised some time ago, that we will see a lot of Season 15 episodes soon. Since that post, the only episode that got released is Mito Koumon. Maybe there are some details on their work in Something Awful GCCX thread, but it's hidden behind a paywall right now.

IME, every Japanese book is in standard (aka Tokyo/Kanto dialect), so Arino's Osaka dialect is tough to understand sometimes (saying 'oru (Osaka/kansai 'be' verb for people)' in place of iru, the standard verb)). Outside of that, they all speak at a normal speed, not 'polite beginner's speed', so I imagine it's tough.

That said, your courses are likely giving you the materials, as well as a rough idea of how to use them. Listen to/read Japanese as much as you can to hear it's used in context to learn how to use these materials as best as you can.

Time the video play time from the start of what I translated to the end and subtract the time of the recap. That took me about 10 minutes doing a quick translation. Consider the episode length and...well, wait, study hard try to be the next generation of fansubbers.

If you mean, "Where should I fit them in between the numbered season episodes," most of them don't really matter continuity-wise. I'd have to look up the dates of everything in the Kindle book to tell you exactly where they fall. You can get a general idea by which ADs appear in those episodes, but there are very few spoilers to worry about.

The Super Metroid NC9 episodes (he plays the full game in three parts) should be watched any time after the Metroid episode, but that should be fairly obvious. The Kirby Super Star NC15 episode comes after and references the unsubbed LE4 challenge of that game with Arino's comedy partner, but we aren't likely to get a sub of any part of that live challenge any time soon.

I just got my cooling sheets in the mail yesterday. I tried them last night and I did notice a difference, but it could have been my mind playing tricks on me. Anyone else try these things?

Yeah, the Zelda episodes are pretty weak. That type of game just doesn't lend itself well to the format of the series, and they did a poor job of presenting them.
