I just like the picture better. It seems not worth the effort and cost if I still have to buy something to convert the signal to analog (Also wouldn't that add input lag?)

What country are you living in? I don't know about the Genesis but I got my N64 RGB modded by a guy who does lots of mods in Kentucky. Cost about 90 bucks all said and done and I got the console back in about 3 weeks.

I have two model 1 geneses. Jailbars are terrible on both, with the caveat that this ONLY HAPPENS WITH COMPOSITE VIDEO. With RGB the picture is completely flawless.

So really, that's the solution. Use RGB. If you don't have a TV/monitor that can accept RGB, I'd recommend an RGB-to-component transcoder and use component. If that's not an option and you *must* use composite video, you're basically out of luck. Genesis composite is just fucking shit all-around and there's no salvaging it.
That said, there is a way around it. You can use a 32X, which takes RGB through the pass-through cable on the back and has its own composite video encoder that does a better job, with no jailbars. The downside is, well, you need a 32X. And I doubt you want to get one just so you can play genesis games in slightly better composite video quality.

I might actually, I've been in the market for one since I got my everdrive. I've always wanted to play fart doom on console.
The main caveat for me besides price is the fact that it's so fucking ugly.

Unfortunately the TV I have only supports composite, and I'm honestly a bit too attached to it to upgrade (Unless someone knows where I can get a good 13" curved screen?). It's a Toshiba MV13L3 I think, in case anyone's wondering.

It's been a while since I checked but removing C28 on the back of the board fixed jailbars completely for me. Composite may have still worked, I recall testing it and getting a picture, but looking at the schematics it would've caused missing colour on the picture - I don't remember if that was the case and I truly couldn't give a rats ass.
