This is the only game that captures the feeling of a classic, Howard barbarian. You can never wildly swing your weapon like mindless brute and expect to win and have to think about your strikes and learn how to evade your opponent's blows, but when you do master this, you become a killing machine using your skill and grace

I learned recently that its not an equals sign but a double-hyphen. The Japanese use it to clarify certain things in katakana, including gaijin names. It's kind of a signal that the name should not be reversed to match the Japanese style. It seems to be a bit old fashioned, though; I never saw it in use until I specifically went looking.
It also gets used in names that have a dash in them because the long dash already has a different function in katakana.

>You can never wildly swing your weapon like mindless brute and expect to win and have to think about your strikes and learn how to evade your opponent's blows
That's only the early game. Then you unlock and master combos and that's it. I remember the first time I've killed a ~18k HP minotaur with one combo as the amazon. She literally chopped him into at least four pieces. With one attack.

>but when you do master this, you become a killing machine using your skill and grace
And then you get to the final boss and throw it all into the trash.

Don't get me wrong, the game has not been matched yet, let alone surpassed. But those are some pretty serious flaws.

This is literally pro-sword, anti-magic the game since you play as Catholic adventurers know a quest to slay demons, bandits and Satan himself.

Does it count as Sword and Sorcery if the story is not set in a fully fictional fantasy world?

>> No.8225557

Of course. The Hyborian age of Conan is a 'lost age' of earth, for example. Thongor's stories are similar, iirc, taking place in a remote region where dinosaur men reign. And of course in the timeless classic Beastmaster 2 the action takes place in modern LA.

The apostrophe isn't used for plurals for anything BUT symbols and letters. "Boy's" for boys is wrong. But "A's B's and C's" are stylistically used to avoid situations like "As" (already a word) or "Bs" (looks like an acronym). By extension you also use apostrophes for symbols. It's not prescriptive since English doesn't have an international convention for these things, but is common practice.

people can rephrase it in order not to use it, but sure, let's go with this approach, as linguistics do

Been staring at Heavy Metal covers book for hours and hours. I want to play videogames in these worlds but nothing gives you the feeling of wonder and mystery like this art.

Seriously though I love it. I rank it between Deastalker 3 and Deathstalker 2
