What's your wishlist for mods/ORCT2?

>rework the economy entirely, or implement some intuitive set of environment variables to allow it to be done by scenario. Would be interesting to tweak the relative values/costs of individual elements or entire categories (i.e. make paths globally more expensive, or staff, etc) and just adjust the magnitude of all the dollar figures to be more in line with reality
>place the whole game on a functional day/night cycle, where the park opens every morning and closes every night, and you progress through a certain number of days per month (maybe five or seven?). Generating and burning through a few thousand guests across hour-long days would generate a lot more money relative to the time elapsed and would make charging $100k-2M for rides make more sense
>deeper management mechanics on the logistics side .. would be interesting to have trash collection and water/electricity delivery mechanics, basically a SC3k-lite sort of deal, and how you'd have to structure the park to include all those additional facilities.
>more staff types like food service, trash collection, engineers, ride operators/pilots

As it stands my enjoyment for simulation part of the game has basically dried up .. as others noted in here it's effortless to cheese with micro rides and void mazes, etc, so the most I take from the game is just getting aspie about aesthetics because playing the simulation side just feels like using the cheat menu with extra steps

Plus:
- Guests dying if you have underfed them and not allowed them to leave (starving people should leave your park, nobody just wanders around a foodless place to die)
- Security guards given some function or another. Like finding snacks guests carry to avoid buying your food. Leads into the above as well.
- Immediate complaints from guests if you charge anything at all to use a bathroom. That's just some bullshit and everyone knows it.
- Automatic digging as a tickbox to turn on in the track construction and path construction menus. Get rid of the pointless steps, if I'm pathing into the ground I'm already clearly intending to dig it.
- A cheat that just shows you the max price of a ride for its stats. Not everyone wants this, there's strategy and a whole game to finding out the right price on your own, so just put it there as a cheat.

Like the spider-man ride at Universal or the Star Wars thing at DW (and probably a bunch of other things at DW but I've never seen), but more exposed to view so that you can see it from above. This game allows you to make exaggerated, unreal coasters, so even though I don't like loops on woodies (especially the mismatched way they look), loads of user coasters are going to be works of pure fantasy with designs that don't exist IRL anyway. Certain RCT coaster types exist in multiple places IRL as a clone-stamped design, not as a generic type, which if anything is an even more consistent example, but the game allows you to construct something unreal with its pieces anyway because forcing a rollercoaster to use 1 prebuilt would be ass and 100% of players would agree about it.

Classic is for you bruh. Play anywhere. At work. Lose your job. Join the carnival and play the game I R L. Basically I've learned the real game is to set up a pyramid scheme to sell people overpriced souvenir umbrellas at $20 by luring them with rides. A decent coaster should fetch $10. Advertising is your friend. Handymen will not bankrupt you, spam them. Entertainers are the most powerful NPCs and can erase guests memory allowing them to wait contentedly in a queue of any length. I bet this type of objective caveat could be coded by ORCT2 devs if they wanted - a scenery quantity mandate next to rides and paths you build objective. It wouldn't enforce things looking GOOD because only a really advanced algorithm could make sure you're being tasteful, but it would encourage and reward the effort. Scenery next to rides is already kept track of in mechanics.

Making a scenario like this *not frustrating* would require additional scripting though, because locating pieces of path or rides that "have too few scenery, fix in X weeks or lose" without some kind of highlighting to tell you where would be pretty unfair gameplay.

Admittedly that would still make it the superior option as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah, you need a lot of toilets (1 per like 100 or 200 people) and fewer than X amount of people thinking "I need to go to the bathroom"

I like that you can modify the existing coasters easily to improve them while keeping the soul of the ride intact. It's a nice touch.

Okay, doods, I'm at my wit's end. I just started getting into RCT and I just can't fucking figure out why my park guest number is stagnating. What am I doing wrong? I'm building coasters and rides as fast as I can afford them, my park rating is 999, what the fuck am I doing wrong? Like, I'm playing Future World and year three started and I can't break 700 guests no matter what I do. Help.

As I recall, guest cap roughly correlates with number of coasters, new ones having a bonus. You might try making a larger number of smaller coasters. Running an advertising campaign for a new coaster will also help.

I decided to try and decorate my rides based upon the parks main theme. With this one being a forest-mine I plan on using plenty of earthy tones.

Duly noted

This was rather interesting, part of me wishes I focused more on trying to fit the rides into the terrain but I was focused more on winning the scenario.

Advertise. Use all 4 advertisements as much as you can, I like to start 4 month ones as soon as my first rollercoaster is up while cashflow is limited, giving me room to build another coaster in that time, then the ride rakes in enough for the next one to be 6-8 months. Keep it continuous and bite off smaller ad bills at first until sudden 12 month payments don't interfere with construction now.
Get park awards (eligibility is checked for random ones each month but it's easy to make sure you qualify for many and cleanest+safest parks should be your always state anyway). Make sure you don't receive negative awards - their conditions are actually easy to spoil with 1 detail, like you physically cannot receive "worst food" if you have 3+ different types of food even if all the starving upset guest requirements in the world are met.

Take out increasing loan to afford the rides faster; interest rates are like hiring a staff member comparatively and you can just increase it as needed instead of the max as a bulk sum. 20 years would have to pass for a 5% interest loan to be a negative investment, 10 for a 10%, 6 and change for a 15%. These lengths of time aren't in the scope of park goals at all so they're automatically worth it, but even then getting revenue up sooner also reaps a higher faster reward for doing it anyway.

Also, there's apparently some caveat with guests who enter hungry, where if you don't give them benches to eat on, their script checks that they haven't found a ride to go on in X time from entry (because they cannot board a ride while holding food) and tells them to leave. Meaning a park with food stalls and no sitting places actually generates some amount of guests who enter, buy a sandwich and leave the park.

Decided to try out some scenery this time around. The side walls could have turned out better but I was afraid that I would need to edit the entire mountain which would interfere with my log flume ride which went through it.
