Yes battery life matters. The original gba lasts 15 hours on 2 AA batteries. Backlit GBA SP reduced it to around 6 or 7 hours. This mod would extend that to around 50, or maybe 80 when you use the frontlit model, which is a wonderful thing. Not charging your battery constantly also extends its lifespan.

I recommend the system in picture, its not only nonsensical for a portable system but it'll be nostalgic as its the portable version of the first console you ever owned. Word on the street is it'll even have a battery that last a full week, you may have to bring cargo shorts back in style but its thicker dimension would provide better grip and it'd look great on that shelf full of shit you pretend to use.

Oh so the best time for Nintendo handhelds and really handheld gaming period? I don't like how after this handhelds basically became inferior versions of modern games. Handhelds would have been a lot better if they stayed in the realm of 2D and retro style games while consoles became for 3D and pushing limits. Although even then PC is better for that anyways. It doesn't make it a stronger console, it just makes it more convenient for those who still play GBA enough to warrant a modernized, deluxe version.

I've got an AGB with a backlight mod and a USB-C rechargeable battery slot replacement. It has a headphone jack built in from the factory. On a personal level, I don't like using external BT because I'm sensitive to even slight audio lag. And presumably, this is being sold to GBA enthusiasts, who have already likely either modded a GBA themselves or bought one online. Seems like this is being sold to the type of people who will pay $70 to have some neckbeard on eBay hack their PSP for them.

If you really want better battery life, a headphone jack, bluetooth support, and USB C charging just buy a device that can do that for half the price and can emulate more. Why not make home consoles better by removing the output port and instead making it a handheld, while we are at it lets remove the screens from game gear and add an output jack instead, or wait no lets power night vision goggles only while in direct sunlight.

Stop trying to "fix" what's not broken and just move onto Chinese knockoffs like all the other zoomers that atleast have a some dignity instead of making monstrosities out of the limited supply of systems we have left. It made me remember that one DVD player that had a GBA player in it. When I was little I had a richfag friend and he actually had that thing as his GBA. The controller on it is terrible though.

Don't see a point. I'm an adult, so it's not very often I get the opportunity to play a handheld on the go begin with. If I really want to play a gameboy game it'll probably be on an emulator or my gameboy player, instead of a tiny ass screen. And if I do want to play something on the go, why wouldn't I instead use a hacked 3DS/switch or a laptop? I'd going to bring them anyways because I'm not going to only bring a gameboy and limit my game library that hard, that'd be dumb. And at that point, I'm not going to bring the gameboy because that'd just be another piece of plastic to pack and carry around, to play the same game on a worse/smaller screen.
Not going to go into the "b-b-but the limited supply" shit because that's just as autistic as buying this. It's a mass produced children's toy. Either buy it, or a gameboy player with the custom Game boy Interface software. Or if you don't want to buy it, emulation of the gameboy family works perfectly fine, or hell there's even an fpga core for the GBA on the Mister if you need to cry about how a sound wave on mGBA or higan is 5 Hz below spec ( pretty sure higan is extremely accurate, though).

What are some fun retor game mods that require soldering. I love to solder now and just installed the n64 digital but want some more projects that involve it.

Restoring and modding a dmg I would say is the most fun.
The soldering needed for changing the caps, connecting the backlight and the bivert mod is not difficult but requires some skills, and I find the result extremely gratifying, you can really go nuts with the customization if you want to.
If you're looking for a soldering challenge, installing modchips for the ps2 slim is not that easy.

Kind of hard to say since nowadays you can easily get an upscaler+HDRetrovision for most consoles outside NES and N64. I guess you can do a component/HDMI mod for Gamecube if you don't want to use the shitty box that sticks out the back like a tumor (I know I don't like that thing), but then again Wiis are still plentiful and cheap.
If you have a dreamcast you can put in a CR2032 battery holder+diode and resettable controller fuse.

Gay and retarded. You get 10 hours with a standard battery and 20 with a high capacity 3rd party. You can charge it using (((USB C))) using a simple cable, or mod for it if autistic about only having one cable for charging all your devices. Given you're probably already carrying a power bank and there are USB charging connections literally fucking everywhere wanting any more is pure autism. The audio mods can all fit in the standard case.
