ITT: instances where the PAL version of a game is superiour to what NTSC got.

I like the NTSC-J version and the SCSP soundtrack better. PAL OST never seemed right.

Used to think the PAL ost was better but lately both sound somewhat good despite being very different (I do think it would help for Legions to not sound like it was made for the snes)

Why would anything of that matter? This is janky trash with janky digi sprites, released early in the system's life.

I think Driver on ps1 runs at bit smoother, the game seems to play the same speed in both.
F1 world championship runs smoother on pal for Megadrive, speed seems correct on both, the intro has noticeable slowdown on a Genesis.
Kirby's adventure has a lot less slowdown on pal but the whole game is slower so its probably not worth it.

>Wipeout 3 Special Edition featured many minor changes to gameplay, such as different craft physics, auto-loading of saves and AI bug fixes. In addition, eight courses from previous Wipeout titles (three from Wipeout and five from Wipeout XL), plus two hidden prototype circuits previously only available in the Japanese version of Wipeout 3, were added giving a total of 22 tracks.

going through that soundtrack for the first time, and a lot of these tracks could absolutely be done pretty well on snes. assuming the sound design is on point.

Easily the best soundtrack out of three, and unlike the buggy NTSC 1.0 and 1.1 versions where you can't achieve 100% completion the PAL region actually allows you to exceed 100% because switching the language to anything other than English turns Vauxhall into Opel and both brands feature a separately counted manufacturer race.

For everyone that doesn't know:
>The American "Professional" mode where you just play through the action stages is available from the start in the EU version, under the name "Action Mode" (while the normal game is called "Story Mode"), and each mode also has three different difficulty settings (Beginner, Normal, and Expert) while the American version's difficulty was static.
>In Action Mode in the EU version, your life bar doesn't start at max like the NA Professional mode. Instead you have to find hidden apples scattered throughout the stages to increase your life bar.
>Enemies' damage output is increased on Expert Mode and varies from enemy to enemy, as opposed to everything dealing 2 HP in the NA Professional mode. In fact, bosses can deal as much as 6 HP in the EU Expert mode! Better not get hit before reaching the miniboss of Fillmore Act 2! Also, all spikes are instant death as opposed to some only dealing 1 HP like in the NA version.
>The sword beam is not available for the boss of Aitos Act 1 in the EU version (at least not on Expert Action Mode), and when you get it for the final battle with Tanzra, its power has been nerfed, so it only deals 1 HP instead of 2, making the final boss fight much longer and much harder (especially combined with his increased damage output)!
