I dont know if yall agree this is the best Final Fantasy game. But yall gotta agree this game has the best soundtrack in all Final Fantasy, No, in all videogame.

It's way too easy IMO, but it beats IV by a long shot by not being such a fucking vanilla plain by-the-book snoozefest. I haven't played V yet, but for now this game is my favorite Final Fantasy.

Nigga FFIV had a really simple composition. It wasnt bad but its like comparing a amateur cafe show with a grand orchestra. FFVI is considered Uematsu's Magnum opus. Even Uematsu himself said it.

With the satisfaction and excitement I felt after finishing that project, I thought I had reached my primary goal, and could quit doing game music with no regrets."

What's the source on that? Not saying it's wrong, I just want to read the whole thing. I've always thought that IX has a somewhat underrated soundtrack. I love it but a lot of people don't seem to tout it as much as other games.

I loved FFIX, but FFVI felt more real. I felt the amount of work put into that game. It did not felt rushed like FFVII, wasnt a trainwreck like FFVIII or a re-telling of past adventures. FFVI felt back then like something more. When I played it back in 1994 I felt it couldn't get any better than this.

I know the interview that's from ( http://www.nobuouematsu.com/gunh.html if anyone is curious) but I think he said that largely because it was done in 1995 and VI was his most recent project at that time, having no idea what he could do afterwards. At the time I'd say it would definitely be correct, but it seems over time and with as much other music he would do later he thought wrong. Hindsight is always 20/20.

Play FF6 and then FF7. They are considered the best by many and for good reason. They are also similar in many ways so if you like one you will like the other.

After that play FF4, its a bit hard so you might want to search for FF4 easytype. After that play FFV, considered by many the FF with the best class system. After that play FF9. Its a love letter to classic FF and a good game by itself. By this point you should be able to play the NES classics FFi-iii. FFI and FFII have a GBA re-release that fixes some shit so grab that. While FFIII has a re-make for the DS, IMO its shit so stick with the NES for that one. Now lastly we go to the shitzone. FFVIII is a pile of shit, but if you play all of the above you are ready for it. After that pile of garbage you can play FFX, which is consider by many the last true FF. Its not that good but a bit better than FFVIII. After FFX its all downhill from there. FFXI &FFXIV is an MMO so fuck it. FFXII is plague with executive medling and FFXIII, well lets not say anything about that one.

i like FF9 the best.
even if only for the fact that IS THE most beautiful fantasy world i have experienced.

the music, the cozy locations are fine.
only real bad point is how the battles are slow as fuck.

i often wonder, if FF6 is ever remade in 3D or in pre-rendered background, if it would be close to FF9 since some parts of it look like they're steam tech. dependent or industrialized

If VII was good, it was only because it was still riding off the fumes of both VI and Chrono Trigger.

When I first played VII, it felt a lot like VI taken to its next logical step (3D, evolution of story, etc)... but that's it. Once those fumes evaporated, we got VIII.

QED.

that part is terrible. I'm playing through it right now and I can't stand switching teams. I'm like 5 hours into the game and it still feels like an introduction. I want to go around killing bad dudes, not being forced to se the minimal progress of the bajillion characters of the game.
The graphics, sound and sotry are top-notch, but the gameplay is a HUGE flop compèared to FFV.

The gameplay is not as deep as FFV. But the story development in top notch. All the characters have unique backstories and you feel for them. When you get magicite you will be able to customize your characters a bit more, but dont expect a FFV level of customization. This game is more like FFVII, well infact FFVII is pretty simmilar to FFVI.
