It's 10 hours if you know how to:
Perfectly chain
Maximize spell buffs and debuffs
Effectively manage RISK and HP
Use and understand the effects of class, type, and affinity
Craft and upgrade weaponry without undoing progress
Use shortcuts
Maximize roulette bonus

Which basically means it's short if you've already finished it three times. Otherwise you could take 20 to 30 hours, and more if you go through the new game plus content (you did learn how to do those things, right?)

PS2 is still the only way to get super good video quality in all ps1 games without dealing with adapter autism if you care about that. You still need original copies as far as I know unfortunately, all the other methods seem worse than just dealing with PC emulation.

And now that I know it does, I can confirm that I, indeed, was severely underleveled and blowing through the game in Mario & Luigi: Partners in time. I guess you weren't supposed to be level 20 with 80 HP at the final boss. That explains why all the bosses seemed to take 50% longer than was fun, I guess.

the japan and euro versions came out later and they reduced boss hp a lot. i think it exactly cuts off that extra 50% of tedium if you do the math
