I almost never go past the Yellow Devil in MM1.

Cleanly beaten (i.e., no select trick) the game before, but getting past him is the only thing that actually requires me to buckle down; mostly re-memorizing his pattern and getting in the rhythm. Aside from that, he's just a tedious boss to fight. Very, very, very fucking tedious boss and probably the longest fight in the whole series.

i actually got stuck there the first time i played paper mario, i got lost and explored for days. desert areas in general are a huge turn off for me i just dont like the way they look and the music is not god-tier its the same in every game, its just music that sounds like heat. sword of mana has a great desert theme because it doesnt fit the area.

Actually, the entire cave of monkeys can be completed within the cave. Every item a monkey asks for can be found in that cave. The only things you really need to get elsewhere are a Large Pizza and the first two items that the first two monkeys ask for. After that, you're set to go through the whole cave in one try.

Grinding up, killing caterpillars to refill your E-Tanks just before Sigma in Megaman X.
Backtracking through any level in Shadowman. (All the environments are so fucking massive for N64 standards, so it's always a chore.)
