Friend got this dead serious message on eBay. The game collecting is market is a catastrophe now.

>trying to drive up prices
>on a $300 product
sounds like a lot of hustle for a small margin. if you're gonna be a scumbag about it at least do it right, like heritage auctions.

Reply with this:
>If you truly think this item is worth more than what I'm selling it for then that sounds like easy money for you, just buy cheap from me and flip it right away.
>Otherwise this sounds to me like you're just trying to get me to raise my prices so you can immediately undercut me and advertise your product as being cheaper than mine 'oh look, this guy is selling this for nearly 300 bucks but mine's just 250! better hurry and buy now'.
>so are you buying or not? I'll even let you offer a ridiculous price for it to make the sold listings look better.

This is ridiculous. Collecting this stuff nowadays doesn't break the bank for me or anything, but it's annoying watching these faggots get away with it. Video games differ from art and collectibles in that they have an actual utility; for the latter two, their inherent value is in owning them and displaying, but video games are meant to be played. Hell, this is even different from NFTs and crypto, with the former being roughly the same as a physical collectible and the latter obviously being subject to speculation as a form of currency.

I have no problem with rare collectibles fetching ridiculous prices, but these faggots buying games so they can put them on their shelves and stare at them are the worst. I have all my retro shit tucked away because who wants to display fucking CDs?

Scalppers, or something like that, cant remember the name. They buy quike and sell high. A somewhat skype cabal holding their hand over content with rare pieces. Mostly seen witihn the gaming scene since this market has the most schizos ready to buy those overpriced content.

In eu, this is illigeal, if by any chance you are in the eu, learn about the law of market regulation.

It's illegal as shit here in America too. With all the attention being drawn to scalpers and assholes marking up video games I can't imagine this will last.

This is why Krikzz is our savior. Fuck buying individual carts at inflated prices, I just want to play on original hardware. There is ZERO excuse for buying a copy of Earthbound for MORE THAN THE COST OF AN FXPACK PRO. Seriously, name 1 reason aside from being able to "show off" your carts on the shelf. That is a funko pop mindset. You want to play games, get a flash cart. End of story. Who the fuck is even buying real carts at these prices? Name ONE (1) reason why you would EVER buy a real cart that costs more than the flash cart for that system. The only reason I could possibly think of is that you don't know about flashcarts existing.

Poorfags like you will never understand, there's no explaining that will ever wrap such a simple concept around your mind. But go ahead and buy more chink shit to falsely boost your ego.

I like buying the originals, it keeps me from being hindered by too many choices at once. But then again, I also don't need to buy the shitty English translations, so games are significantly cheaper for me.

I collect old drum n bass/jungle vinyl records and the same things happening the last few years. Faggot autist groups on facebook and reddit bringing attention to lesser known tunes by talking about them constantly and driving the prices up. There's now records that were going for £20-40 5 years ago going for 200+ now

I still own my childhood carts, with some decent rarity games. I haven't touched them since getting a flash cart. Why would I? It's too convenient to (1) have every game I want to play at my fingertips and (2) (this is important) being able to easily put my save onto another medium, for instance to play on the go on my 3ds or Vita. I derive no pleasure from getting up to swap carts and having my saves be locked away, one dead battery away from being deleted forever. What is the appeal of that? I'm not sure what I'll do with my real carts. Currently I'm holding onto them, but like I said, they are unused, and they are taking up shelf space. And Krikzz is Ukrainian, I haven't ever bought a clone cart from China because I fear them frying my console or deleting my saves or something.

>>8099349
I like to play over S-Video on my CRT. I did try to set up a VGA to S-Video cable from my PC to my CRT and use emudriver to get 240p and runahead to try and curb the input lag just to see what it was like, but the real hardware beats it out. So I will stick to the flashcart.

>>8099350
I think so, I have seen them online somewhere. I have a SD2SNES technically, but it looks like Krikzz stopped selling those and replaced them with the FXPACK. Mine is SFC shaped but fits in my north american SNES.

>>8099351
This is the best argument against flashcarts honestly. I definitely have felt the paradox of choice freezing me up before with the full library of games in one place. I get around it by committing to just 1 or 2 games at a time and forcing myself to stick with it, instead of hopping around. Slowly chipping away at my backlog / replaying favorites.

>>8099382
Not quite for the price of an everdrive, but close! I have a MiSTer for my living room and I love it. My CRT is in my guest bedroom with my PC and that's where I use my flashcarts. I wrote a script to easily sync saves between the flashcart and the MiSTer (as well as my 3ds/Vita) so I can easily play anywhere.

It's also probably tiktok. There are tiktok accounts for film and vinyl which exist to expose the really underground shit that only enthusiasts used to like, playing a sample clip of the song/movie in rapid fire so people can quickly find things that are good. It's way more effective at spreading things than text-based mediums like reddit or facebook. There's nothing too obscure (and the more obscure the better) and the videos spread like wildfire so now every kiddy knows about your favorite random jungle vinyl record from the 70s that previously was only discussed on obscure forums. There are no secret clubs anymore. Enjoy everything being the new mainstream.

Yeah, and this is another thing. How poor are you that you need to spend your spare time squeezing a couple dozen more dollars out of your eBay listings? If you're an actual adult with a real job, your hourly rate should be a LOT more than what this would net you, and you should act like it. But we all know these people are desperate poorfags with no skills.
