Sup /vr/. My snes has a tiny problem where there are some curvy lines that appear while I play (as shown in the picture). It's not really a big deal but I was just wondering why it happens and if there is any way to fix/improve it. I'm using the RF output by the way. (The red/yellow/white cable doesn't work because the chip in the snes is busted)

I too would like to know this. I use an NES with composite, removed the metal shield while disabling lockout IIRC

It's the RF cable -- it's loose and not getting a good connection to the TV. That used to happen to me and my SNES.

Interference.

Use cables with better shielding.

>>809065

Reinstall the RF shield.

If any "chip" got "busted" you wouldn't get RF either.
I bet the composite works fine and you're just doing something wrong.

I know that sounded dumb as hell, but the composite output is way worse, where all you see is a mess of green lines that barely resembles the game. The only thing that could be wrong is something in the snes since I tried like 3 different new composite cables.

What about the TV?

I tried using both cables in different TVs, the only thing that changed is that the composite only has sound and no video, but the RF stays the same.

Sounds more like a bad joint or discreet component.

It can't be a broken chip. Both the RF and composite source video from the same chip (the PPU). And in the case of composite, it's sourced directly.

The PPU doesn't output straight composite. This isn't a NES.
There's an encoder chip. (which also outputs S-video and GLORIOUS RGB) The composite from that then goes to the RF modulator I guess.

Needs more deinterlacing artifacts.

I stand corrected. The shield is actually in there.
