This is the same, excellent, recommendation. But you should know that Centy has a butchered 90`s translation and while Soleil came through the process nicely intact it is a PAL region game. Check for the almost certain to exist 50 to 60 or script replacement patch first.

I guess I might as well post this here then.

Some Russian hackers made a patch for better controls in Landstalker.
BTNT-ACB6
0JNT-AJCA
GTNT-ANCJ
ATNT-AGC2

What these Game Genies codes do is:
UP = UP+RIGHT
DOWN = DOWN+LEFT
LEFT = UP+LEFT
RIGHT = DOWN+RIGHT

This makes it a lot more playable on the d-pad.

There is no working pal/ntsc yet. Just an early proof of concept from 2020. Soleil is kinda special since it's a very PAL optimized version. He should just play the PAL rom on a PC and set the screen refresh rate to 50hz like you would with an Amiga emulator.

Alundra 2 has techincal problems, 50% slowed down and glitches. You can fix it with emulation but you will notice, when speeding up the game around 50%, how the develper worked around the slow down. The walking animation will always be out of sync.

you don't even need the game to test it yourself, just watch a youtube video and speed it up to 1,50 and you will see it.

Really fond memories of playing this through as a kid. Different endings depending on which story paralel you fall into, the merge in one, really ground breaking thinking, sadly it never got a sequel because it was on the saturn.
