Whoever tricked you into believing this is some masterpiece of high brow humor did a good job because just about everyone who hasn't played this knows it for the Mighty Poo fight alone. I do agree it fucking sucks gameplay-wise, I was expecting something like Banjo-Kazooie with more cutscenes but it really is chores: the game. The graphics are amazing though and I did enjoy the humor.

Can't relate, I'm in the middle of playing through it for my first time and I'm really enjoying it.

Pee pee poo poo humor is only funny if you are retarded or 12. And it certainly has no place in video games.

The big issue with the humor wasn't even the writing, it was the execution of jokes. So many characters would mumble their lines or say the joke very monotone. Even when the character was voiced properly, they tended to put emphasis on the wrong parts. There's one moment in particular that always sticks in the bag of my mind and annoys me, it's when conker says the incredibly simple line "big boner, my ass". A very simple and common snide remark the "my ass" line is, yet they actually somehow managed to fuck it up because conker puts the emphasis on "big boner" instead of "my ass". It genuinely boggles my mind thinking about it so many years later. So many jokes are like this. You're better off muting the game and reading the jokes.

I hated 3 at first but forced myself to play through it. After the first shitty world the game keeps getting better and better. Opposite to dkc2 which starts lackluster and gets more and more annoying every turn, just throwing bees at everything. Dkc3 bosses were also all interesting

3's a great game. I don't know if I'd personally put it above 2, but it's definitely more polished of an experience. 2 had more conventional "cool factor" that attracted more kids to play it (that plus 3's release date was very late; releasing a year after the Playstation and after the N64 was already out). I can get how aesthetically and thematically 2 is just more appealing (ghost pirates and spooky castles over weird aquatic creatures and hillbilly bears). But 2 had some problems in some of its later levels, particularly some of the more gimmicky ones, whereas 3 really has a lot of fun throughout.
