Doesn't really matter except for track layout. With block brakes you can put however many trains on the track as you want so one coaster might suffice, but I'm not sure if you can put two on-ride photo sections on one coaster even if it has more than one station. I'd go with two separate rides for maximum on-ride photo jewing.

One thing I'm never sure about in RCT, is it worth having multiple Gentle/Thrill rides like ferris wheels, merry-go-rounds etc.? I usually only build one of each, but would a guest who just got off a ride go on a duplicate of the same ride anyway?

>> No.767496

>>767481
If a ride is good enough, they'll ride it again anyway. It doesn't matter if there's another just like it somewhere else in the park. I think you're giving the AI much more credit than what it deserves.

>> No.767518

>>767496
Yeah, I probably am. I assumed they'd have some kind of parameter where they'd "remember" what ride they've went on, to avoid them just going on the same ride over and over again. Maybe multiples of cheap rides will solve my money issues from most times I play.

I was playing Evergreen Gardens and seemed to be doing pretty well, but then I kept getting reports of litter and the state of the footpaths. Even as I dropped my handymen right on the litter I could see and seemed to clean everything, my park approval instantly dropped from 800 to 200 and never recovered. Other than there being a ton of litter on a path that I could not see and the handymen couldn't reach, I have no idea what happened and the game didn't tell me.

>> No.767531

>>767518

If I really like a ride, I don't have a problem going on it again. I once went on the same coaster 9 times in one day at a park.

And you need to use patrol areas for handimen. It's really simple, and it makes a huge difference (same with mechanics). Also, for a scenario like EG, make sure you delete, or close off, any paths that you don't actually need.

>> No.767593

>>767531
Yeah, I made the mistake of not removing paths the first time and ended up with endless "guest # is lost" messages. I try to make patrol routes, but I'm never sure how many handymen to actually employ and how large their patrol routes should be.

Is mowing the grass that important? It seems wasteful, considering how much grass there is in most scenarios and how quickly it overgrows again.

so far, this has definitely crashed due to "vehicle malfunction", and I'm pretty sure it has never crashed due to station brakes failure. what you say might be the case, only one station brakes fail.

apparently, trains do not crash if they are in the station, like they can run into each other at 60 mph but won't crash if they're in the station. i've seen this happen, it's also here: http://rct.wikia.com/wiki/Ride_Breakdowns

A sprial launched lifthill seems like a good way to go but you can only get a twister roller coaster to go up to 190 feet with it. You could do a spiral chain lift hill with a hyper coaster but you won't be able to do loops and the cars have to be super long in order to constantly connect to the chain sections.

The key to Evergreen Gardens is to immediately cut your guests off from the rest of the park, and only work with what you have.

It's better to have a smaller, overcrowded section with maximum jewing, than a massive park like Evergreen with guests getting lost everywhere, especially that early when you can't afford the infrastructure.

Once you get up to the ring, pick a direction to start expanding in, and make sure your guests can only get into parts you've already put down.

It's usually worth it to convert the miscellaneous gardens you encounter into food courts, because it looks very nice and realistic.

After you get about 1/4 of the way around the circle, go back to the intersection and start expanding the other way. After you get 1/4 of the way around there, just start expanding both to meet around in the same place.

Usually, I'll beat the scenario just as I connect the two ends of the circle.
