The GameGear Rom has some bs protection that makes it not run even on original Game Gear - only GameGear Micro.
Switch version can be emulated just fine.

In many ways. Programming for the FM part is more difficult and much easier to get wrong. And people often got it wrong because priority was given to the PSG which was the lowest common denominator. Ideally games would have been written to use both and use the strengths of each. But that rarely happens as that only works on a small percentage of systems.
