For FFTA, there's a world-building strategy once cryptically mentioned that gives you rare items/battles for placing on certain places next to certain places. The FAQ/walkthrough is not on GameFAQs, but you can find it, and I'll try posting it here if I get some time very soon to look for it again.

I think the problem is that the story is utter garbage. Haven't played FF Tactics PS1 yet, but I do believe people praise the story there, so it's quite a downgrade

I'm not certain people played the game honestly, since the ending is revealed that the book is a soul eater, and so the valid questions raised about escapism is compounded by the fact that you get your soul eaten. People just follow what they read somewhere because even children's games are too subtle for the average poster here.

I fucking HATE this game. I never played FFT but heard all the hype, but did buy a bunch of other PSX square titles. So I play FFTA, fucking hate everything about it, finish it out of boredom, then never go to play FFT because of just how fucking disgusting FFTA is. I'm a big Langrisser, Shining Force, and at the time Fire Emblem so I had harsh harsh criticisms for that fucking trash heap.

Now I don't want to even explain it to you, just that it's dogshit and should be erased from history.

I think there are two types of srpg fans, ones that enjoy making a team of customizable units, emphasizing the rpg part and people who want strategic fights.

FFTA has far more customization options than most srpgs. Langrisser has a little, some fire emblems (4,5 and the new ones mainly) have some almost incidental options but shining force has virtually none.

So from my perspective those games barely give you options to tinker with your team to solve the puzzle that is the upcoming fight(s), whereas FFTA and its sequel can be replayed a great number of times in different ways even though the strategy part is lacking.

I like how there are more people responding to OP's image than what he actually wanted to talk about. Just goes to show the average IQ of this board.
