>> No.8071130

I always have cool ideas for parks but I can never see them through to completion. I just have a bunch of unfinished parks and themed areas that I am pretty proud of but none of them are finished.
They always seem way less ambitious at the start and the project gains scope way too quick, like my plot from the plots server (which I will rehost if anyone wants). Maybe I should try building in smaller scenarios and seeing them to completion.

odds are, the majority of your park guests had already paid to enter, and making park entry free in order to raise prices would still piss them off. The only way to fully shift to full price rides would be to wait until the paid entry guests left or kicked them out yourself by closing the park. That kind of turnover probably would take more time than the scenario would allow.

Mini-golf gets worse the more you look at it. You know those corner holes that take guests a longer time to solve than other holes? Apparently, guests stacking up waiting their turn for that hole don't always go in a first-come, first-serve order. They become guest trappers when lots of people are on the ride. If you put it as the first hole, it fixes the problem, but kinda ruins the aesthetic of the ride if the first hole is the hardest one.

Just a dogshit ride overall, but it's there if you need a +1 Ride Count, or if you want to put effort into something small.

The saddest part of mini golf, to me, is that all hole types are equal. You are not rewarded for putting together a course that has more than the basic hole type, in fact you are punished because they take longer. If Chris was half as interested in this ride as implementing different food stalls for every man, woman and child on earth he'd at least have made the challenging ones proportionally more exciting and rewarded courses that vary the hole type as much as possible.

Minigolf just doesn't have the capacity to make sense in a large park. Go karts don't really either but they can at least be charged at a premium. The example that comes to mind for me is the small hybrid park - arcade + minigolf + go karts + small attractions + maybe a coaster. I know of a Scandia with a mouse and a Boomers with a wooden coaster.

>> No.8081093

>>8080918
You use minigolf if you want 3 gentle rides, only have Minigolf left to build, and don't want to diminish the price of the other 2. Its purpose is to appease gentle ride guests until their tastes evolve to wanting to ride something better, so in that way it makes you money even if the ride itself sucks dick at showing direct profit.

You can also just put it underground out of sight and not taking up space, with its exit having no path, to send broke guests to the bottom boundary of the park and make the poors leave. Works just like Maze and you might not have both. The other thing you can exploit about mechanic employees never needing to get into its exit is having it drop people any distance downward as a jank transport ride or just to make a dumb tower of rides more easily.

It's very frustrating that the ghost test train doesn't work with the cable lift hill. Makes fine-tuning Giga Coasters a real chore. Anyway had a go at making a synchronised Giga as a feature coaster, I had to resort to a few brakes/boosters which I consider slightly cheaty, but it was the only way to make the helixes manageable and the two trains more or less come in on time in the end.
