How frequent do you guys go for the 1cc since most retro games have this arcade style ?

I'm not going to put effort into something I'm really not that invested in.

Sauce? I'm pretty sure there are enough games that don't even fit into that construct to make the statement false.
I rarely " go for the 1cc". Usually it comes to me. If I like a game I play it a lot. If I play a game a lot I'll git gud. Eventually I master it. When I have so much experience at a game that I no longer need to worry about getting hit I come up with artificial challenges to test my skill. Somewhere along the way I invariably 1CC it unintentionally.

with some arcade games there's no point as they're designed to jew children out of money.

I don't (unless the game's just easy enough that I can 1cc it without trying), but I do try not to use continues until I can get to the last level or the one just before it without getting a game over, just so I don't feel like a complete bitch. I really don't think continues are bad or not really playing the game, but at the same time it feels lame to use like a hundred in a row just to make it through.

1. Are you having fun with the game?
2. Do you feel you would be down for trying to beat it on one credit?

That's literally it. I don't waste time trying to 1CC games I don't like (or have 1CCs that would be utterly unenjoyable to do)

never. it sometimes happens by accident.

Strikers 1945 II, 1cc, both loops.
Looney Toons - Sheep Raider, 1cc, wr style.
Heart of Darkness, 1cc speedrun

Rarely.
It has to be a game I come back to again and again.
Last 1cc I did was Super Marios. Special 35th Anniversary Edition.

Really, anything I find enjoyable. Mostly arcade. I have more experience with 80's stuff because that's what I grew up with but still enjoy some relatively modern stuff. Some of the bullethells with whatever random gimmick can be fun because once you learn that the game's a walk in the park. Just mindless fun.

this. if a game has a new game or "second quest", or is just really enjoyable to play, i'd keep replaying it just for fun. inevitably, i'd 1cc the game sooner or later. castlevania 3, contra, doom, etc.

1cc'ing an actual arcade game I just did it once. Sunset Riders and I mean both loops. This game is special for me as is Cadillacs and Dinosaurs but I didn't attempt CD yet. Perhaps someday
Console games pretty much every single one I play I end up beating it without continues. Generally I do use them but it's until I don't need to use them anymore and even after I beat a game without using it I don't drop it straight away to move to another. I beat it again once or twice and fuck around with it.

Never. I tend to play games I enjoy. I respect the games enough to take the time to enjoy them.

If true then you should be worried. Someone with average skill/intelligence who enjoys playing a game will eventually 1CC it. It may take a long time, but if they really enjoy and respect the game it's inevitable. If you were a casual who just doesn't care that'd be fine. But if you are actually spending time on games you enjoy and not gitting gud you might have a medical problem.

if I like a game I end up replaying it enough until I can beat it without dying, or very close to a deathless run.

Ghosts 'n Goblins
Ghouls n Ghosts
Super Ghouls 'n Ghosts
Metal Slug 1, 2, X
Warriors of Fate
Pulstar
Dodonpachi

are some 1cc or deathless runs that come to mind recently

Yes. Not having normal human physical and mental capabilities is a medical problem. It's literally the definition of a disability.

It's worse that I though. You really need medical attention.
