The intro alone is worth playing it. Haven't played the others but I enjoyed it. Ya it's not 10/10 but I appreciate the though they put into it anyway 8/10

I remember playing the demo and seeing Snake swimming in that cutscene and the water going all wobbly blew my little child mind. Played through the demo a million times but didn't play the full version till an adult, which I'm glad because I was a dumb kid and wouldn't have understood what to do I'm sure.

It doesn't look as much like the MGS2 one as you think. I'm much more interested in the fact that they were originally gonna have crouch walking, considering we didn't get that in a game until MGS4

Never played MGS as a kid beyond a brief demo of the dock section. Finally watched a play through recently. One thing it really excels at is building mood; so much that I might even say it's the game's best feature. A lot of the dialogue is saccharine, stilted, and corny, but the art, music, direction, and really honest voice acting actually make it seem profound at times, even when the words as written on paper are horribly trite.

Was therefore absolutely floored by how much worse Twin Snakes is in this department. The entire atmosphere is gone, and what's left is just a trite, unimpressive thing. Can't speak for the others, but for MGS1 at least, I think its all about how things are conveyed, not what.

The games are fucking silly goofy borderline capeshit. the first MGS has the most simplistic story of them all and snake acts most retarded here, this is the only one where he has an interest in women in any way. Why not remake one to be even stupider but play way better. Who fucking cares four has the best story in these games and a very heavy hitting scene is cut together with fucking gay Meryl/Johnny shit. I never played Twin Snakes but I've watched some cutscenes. It certainly looks better, but I think that the voice acting is dissapointing and much worse than in the original.
