How does Legacy of Darkness compare to CV64? I'm playing the original and I'm enjoying it a lot, even if there's many moments where the fun is sapped instantly like the hedge maze.

Isn't Legacy of Darkness an enhanced rerelease of Castlevania 64?

It's slightly different in levels and gameplay.

not really. I'm not sure why people put them together since it's basically a new game. It's like saying Pokemon Gold/Silver is really just and enhanced re-release of Red/Blue because it includes Kanto. It features a different storyline from 64 with a new character, has another new character, and the two characters from the 64 feature different levels arrangement/bosses, so even playing as the same characters would be different, not to mention it changes the story a bit and have to be unlocked.

For me it's the magical nitro walk

I liked it better, felt less tedious also I enjoyed playing through with all the characters

Completely different game, I swear to god I'll never understand how this shit got started.

I think both 64 castlevania games are great. LoD is better, camera works a little better, it has less platforming. Still say the first one is worth playing

It's not that hard and I'm garbage at video games

The only main issue I had with the sequel was you were forced to play the werewolf all the way through before being allowed to pick Reinhardt or Carrie. All should've been playable from the start. Also the stupid sun/moon card system was dumb. Great game otherwise though.

Is there a way to apply the 2d classicvania formula to 3d and it still be fun?
>inb4 dark souls
Platforming is a big part of the old games and it should retain its place as a prominent gameplay element

It took me like 3 tries when I played it last year… I guess thats frustrating now?

I thought the hedge maze was pretty exciting. Difficult to navigate sure, but a pretty thrilling segment.

Exciting? Sure, but only when the dogs chasing you at the speed of light don't hold you down the moment you stop jumping like a prancing homo lala man or that last frankestein blocking the path doesn't one-shot you in the middle of your slide.

Only thing i remember from this game is nazi skeletons on sidecar motorcycles.

If you kept it 3D behind the camera angle with limited movement and treated it like it was on rails, so when you're walking across a bridge you don't have fishmen and bats swarming you 360 degrees making you aim awkwardly. Just have them appear in front or behind.

pic related would be perfect for it

Because its an enhanced person of the same game. It even comes with the same playable characters, and a nearly identical campaign, only changes being some geometry.

Meanwhile, you cant fucking play the Red/Blue campaign in Gold/silver.
