the fuck is this overrated bad design game???
any sane person would play it once and just move on. there is no internet telling you it has to be played many times
i then heard about Mr X but since i pñayed it centuries ago I just thought it was birking or hunk or something like that- never knew it was a fucking canon nemesis-like creature!

If you care enough about what’s considered “canon” you’re likely invested enough to play through the game twice anyways to see everything.

If you’re not, then just move on after beating the game once. Sorry the game offered replay value, I’m sure the developers regret it deeply.

>> No.7946095

>>7946048
not really. i play a game once to know the story. i play twice to have fun, not to know the story. said fun is something any sane person can choose to do. wasting time in a game you already played is a choice a person can make. what's done is done. the story is already beaten
an this is different from games with alternate endings, which are totally ok. you play a game and you can get a good ending or bad ending. you already know you got the good ending, or you already know you got the bad ending so you're playing it again to get the good ending. this shitty designed game gives you a fake ending
only that re2 is a fake experience (no canon Mr X, for example)

no resident evil forces you to play it twice
replays are a bonus, an option, not a "must to"
you're literally eating a dlc to consume the real product
you just experience the fake product
nothing in the game tells you you have to repeat the campaign, the "same" game, to know the canon story

so no kiddo, that shit is not "replay value".
i bet you love ghost and goblins for telling you you have to play it again to know the real ending. amazing replay value set by the amazing developers - people who complain about it are retarded haha!

>If you’re not, then just move on after beating the game once
so i get a fake, false product because of the devs' autism. 'kay

and it's not even about different characters: it's about having to play with leon (imagine chris) but twice. playing with claire will just give me her side of story. if you paid attention to my op, you'll see that i am talking about HAVING TO PLAY TWICE, not about diferent campaigns/characters

and not, about the later question: nope, not my thing
i know people do that shit in order to get better and stuff like that. well, that's not my cup of tea. i play it once and just move
i might obviously play it again, but years later

no "replayed campaign" in re1, 3, 4, cv, 5, 6, 7, outbreak, whatever. gives you a different story that is actually canon
playing a game again means you'll play it with rewards and stuff like that
re 2 is literally a game where the campaign is just a dream
yeah, a dream. replace it with the character waking up at the end or realizing it was just an illusion or some final destination premonition shit. well, the game is basically just that: a premonition

1. No one is forcing you to play the game or do anything.

2. Players at the time welcomed this because RE1 it was just the same campaign but with two characters and the only difference is the story scenes. In 2, you both get new story scenes, and a more fleshed out second campaign that includes new bosses, the impact of your choices in first campaign, and a new ending.

3. Gamers welcomed the more gameplay. You instead whine.

I see what he's saying, even Kamiya stated that he felt RE2 was too easy but that it was done to appeal to new players.
>Kamiya: I didn’t want to give the Tyrant those bullet drops either. However, defeating him uses up a lot of ammo, so it was done out of consideration for beginners. Finding the right difficulty balance is tough. Personally, I think Resident Evil 2 was too easy. But when you take into account new players, I think this was the right thing to do.
http://shmuplations.com/residentevil2/

There's other stuff too like how a first-time player is more likely to find themselves with a surplus of ammo in RE2 than in RE1 since RE1's ammo pickups are in less obvious places. In RE2 the player has no control over the fate of the supporting characters, while in RE1 the player has to make the right choices to save Barry, act quickly to save Rebecca from hunters, and find all 3 pass codes to save Jill/Chris.
There also isn't any creature in RE2 that is as dangerous as the hunters with their many i-frames that allow them to evade damage and fast one-hit-kill decapitation attack that may kill the player before they can even react.

They aren't hard, but at least it had stuff beyond simple block pushing like the painting puzzle, mixing the V Jolt, or solving a simple cipher to get the Lab password. Even little things like using the herbicide to get the Armor key or swapping out the shotgun were more creative than anything in RE2.
