I heard that PCSX2 is getting rid of the plugin system are games running better now?

No, worse, but "it'll get better"

You all be fooling. 1.6 has made huge strides in the accuracy department.

It got rid of it a while ago.

More seriously I am glad they're actually trying to improve it to be more than "technically usable but not usable at all to your kids or parents", which wasn't a great place for toy-playing software to be.

i agree, by now its time to fix the controller delay specially. but if i am realistic i would say the best case scenario is a new emulator with higher standards.

I hated having to tweak settings for every game, so I'm happy if they do it well

Will there ever be a good PS2 emulator? I love playing on OG hardware, but 480i is not that pretty.

>> No.7944148

>>7944130
A good emulator would be an accurate emulator and with an accurate emulator it will look exactly the same as on the OG hardware.

It seriously needs a good frontent that can take care of that plus be compatible with both gzip and chd.

Not OP but I never could get Ghost in the Shell to work properly. Every combination had maybe 60% of features working, and then you switch plugins and it fixes one thing and breaks another.
Not minor things like particles but things like the overlay that displays all text, or models disappearing when you scope in and things like that.
Granted this was a long time ago now so it might have changed but it's not like that's an obscure game so I can only imagine there's plenty of compat problems if you go deeper.
Maybe it's better now, but I can't say myself.

Does input feel any better in the non-plugin versions? I remember trying to play Shinobi and other action games and it feels like shit to me compared to actual hardware. This is on a good monitor on Win7 with Aero off by the way, so that kind of shit isn't a factor.

Saying 'using a frontend was too much for my brain to take so I totally gave up and went back to the console' is just highlighting how fucking dumb you are, christ knows why you bothered posting it.

>> No.7945439

>>7945435
I use Launchbox mate
you're not some sort of genius because you use a frontend
the issue is the emulator itself, the fact that different builds are needed for certain games, then each game needs different graphical tweaking to look right
not only that but a graphical glitch will inevitably pop up in the middle of any game you are playing so enjoy that I guess

Have you tried messing with this setting in the newer versions of PCSX2? I noticed a slight reduction in input lag when setting it to 0. And I think there are some people working on more accurate emulators but it's going to be a while before they're good enough to be used and we have hardware strong enough to run games at full speed.
