Brainlet here, how can I get into top down Zelda? I want to have fun and appreciate them but I am trash at those style games and the gameplay feels so fundamentally different then the 3D ones it fucks with my brain. For context I really liked the NES Zeldas especially the dungeons/palaces in them and the overworld of 2. LttP I played some years ago but I went in with stupidly high expectations and couldn’t get into it since retarded teenager at the time but would be willing give it another fair shot. Loved what I played of Oracle of Ages since it had so much soul in early game but I stopped playing for whatever reason, and I got filtered by Minish Cap before the second dungeon of all things. Of the mainline 2D/top downs after Zelda 2 and before DS shit where should I begin to get into it or just get good? Want to play one that has solid dungeons with an overworld that’s not a complete bitch to navigate/progress that’s semi-fun to explore.

Give alttp another shot or Link's Awakening. Oracle of Seasons has less bullshit than Ages.

Honestly, get over yourself. You need to approach all of them and pick the one that appeals to you most. If you’re having a hard time (lol) *glance* at a guide to get the hint you need.

The classic games are cool because the combat is fair and the exploration is well-paced and adventurous.
If you ultimately cannot appreciate the limitations of not being 3d, you may want to zoom your ass back to TP lmao

Play ALttP one more time and if you don't like it then try Minish Cap. If you find them too difficult then start with A Link Between Worlds. It's not retro but honestly it's a great game, every ALttP fan must at least give it a try
