I really like III. Its only flaw is that there is no save. It's the only game in the series that shouldn't have to be played in one sitting.

>III is garbage
>>7913680

Is not. It's the most interesting of the three games. It's the hardest one to get into by far, though. It's the ActRaiser 2 of this series: Good, but drastically different in a way that seems calculated to repel people who were satisfied with what came before. It's baffling that anybody would make a sequel like that. But that doesn't mean the game is bad. It just means the game will be unpopular with people who don't have discipline, or who have it but don't care to apply it when challenged by what they see as a children's toy.

the problem is that you don't get a real weapon until level 2 so most people quit during level 1 with a bad impression of the game

Remember when the guy from Iron Sword, Max Damage from NARC, Tyrone from Arch Rivals, the Tomato thing from a GameBoy game and BigFoot all shared a cartoon series together?

Like a really bad version of Captain N.

I wouldn't call it garbage but 3's got some serious problems: Combat outside of bosses is utterly pointless, a case of everything to lose and nothing to gain. This gets even sillier when you realize as long as you wear the right costume in the right area, all enemies ignore you totally.

It also sucks a lot of the upgrades are just used to get past a single arbitrary nuclear object (The chomping ghost thing, the waterfall, the beehive, and the solider dude). Their idea of the weird combat stance thing of holding B and pointing the Dpad around to attack in different spots is cool in theory but really it only applies to the Lv. 1 wizard, Lv. 2 and Lv. 3 knight. Having a finite amount of gold in the world kinda sucks too.

Even with my gripes about this game though I still hold it very near and dear to my heart, the game was made with love and it shows, their heart was in the right place. The art direction is pretty cool, and I fucking love the soundtrack. W&W3 is one of my biggest inspirations for my creative shit and it was a big part of my childhood. But man in terms of gameplay it's the fucking worst of the trilogy.

TL;DR I love the game but it fucking sucks to play it.

I've finished the first game as a kid (with many continues), 1CC'd the second as an adult, and got to the final battle of the third (but died). I still don't completely understand how Kuros' sword works. They're just odd games.

>Like a really bad version of Captain N.
I want to emphasize this point for people who never saw the show. You can say a lot negative about Captain N, but Power Team is the antithesis of it. It reverses the scenario, the characters are "more accurate" to their source material... and they whole thing winds up so incredibly mind-numbingly BORING. At the end of the day, for all its perceived shittiness, Captain N at least offers entertainment.

Well at least the first W&W feels mostly good to play, once you get the dagger you can easily nail enemies with that, and getting the boots to kick chests open is really fun.
Up until you forget which chest has the shitty cloak of darkness and you kick it open, replacing the cool boots with that cloak, fuck you game. The cloak gives you a defense boost where everything only does 1 pip of damage but goddamn I still hate that item.

It's funny, because I love the concept of a bunch of Acclaim published characters coming together in this one random team. But try to watch a few these, most of the plots were like; little girl gets bullied. Goes to Mike Matei for help. Mike assembles the Power Team, or W/E to help. People do call Captain N bad, and the show wasn't the greatest, especially not in the final season. But it had a lot more going on than this.

>Bad as it was, I loved that show, including the game "review" sections that bookended the cartoon. It holds a special place in my heart along with the Super Mario Super Show, an Ruby Spears Mega Man.

There are certain things about it that I kind of like. The show was meant to be some sort of replacement for Captain N: The Game Master. But with Acclaimed published NES games.

Narc - NES - ported by Rare, Original arcade game by Williams.
Ironsword: Wizards & Warriors II - NES - Developed by Rare.
Arch Rivals: A Basket Brawl! - NES - port by Rare - original arcade game by Midway
Bigfoot - NES- developed by Beam Software
Kwirk - GameBoy - Developed by Atlus

It's a weird composition of characters, but all those games were being published within the time-frame of this show. The main protag is named Johnny Arcade. The biggest issue was the lazy auto-pilot scripts. the show was adverting the Nintendo kids-friendly version of characters like Max Damage.
