Don't give up, you can do it if you really want! Also stay away from drugs because you need all your senses when you go up against video game foes.

up or down will break the spinjump. be careful not to press them. also if you press Jump before the direction it will not work. its like Direction -> Jump in a swift motion. good luck.

this. touch the wall while spinning, hit the opposite direction and samus will shift to a different sprite. press jump during that sprite.

>> No.7910360

Just spin jump towards a wall, press the direction opposite of the wall then press jump. It's ezpz if you're not a retard.

you gotta press A slightly after you go in the opposite direction of the wall, as others have mentioned, during the part where samus's sprite changes
its easier to wall jump off of the same wall rather than going back and forth

It's really just practice. It requires a bit of finesse in this game, though you get the pay off of it feeling really good once you've gotten it reasonably down.

These. Stop trying to do a simultaneous input, the window is always after you start pushing away from the wall.

Do this as an exercise: do some plain spinjumps against the wall and then press the direction away from the wall without trying to jump, just watch Samus's animation. You can visually see her going into a leg-on-wall state when you push the direction away from the wall in spinjump. Do it a few times to get a feel for how long that state lasts. It's a fairly big window - she isn't even in contact with the wall anymore for part of it. Understand that you can jump at any time during that animation state, and only then.

are you emulating on the 3ds by any chance? that d-pad is really iffy with wall jumping. if not then get gud.

>> No.7911861

Not op but i'm emulating it on 3ds and i can wall jump pretty easily

>> No.7911938

oh because i have the slate 2ds and the d-pad is really bad. i'm sure the 3ds-xl is way better but i've heard complaints still. sufficed to say i'm done playing super metroid hacks on anything but my pc.

don't try to press the direction and jump at the same time, wait a few microseconds then press jump.
