Is it worth picking up? What games should I get with it?

Those are not only xbox exclusives, but also PC/Xbox exclusives, like fable lost chapters for example. No reason to pick up an xbox to play PC games.

Only if you already own almost every other console
>What games should I get with it?
Outrun 2, Shenmue 2 (if you don't have and aren't going to get the Dreamcast version), and Ninja Gaiden or NG Black. Maybe Orta if you really love PD, but it's not as good as the first 2

That depends, if you're into Sega then maybe, Jet Set Radio Future, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Spikeout Battle Street, Otogi and apparently the best version of OutRun is there (though I'd argue the PS3/360 version is great). I've been meaning to buy one to play Rent-a-Hero's unreleased translation but it seems like too much of a hassle for a b-tier game. Mind, most of these game can be emulated pretty well on CXBX. and if you have a SeX you can play a lot of og xbox games there, upscaled too.

>>7898698
To be fair, Touge R didn't get translated until recently (I know it's just a racing game, still), and it's the last game on a pretty obscure racing series, on a console not known for Japanese games outside of what Sega published for it.

No reason to not just play the remaster unless you really want to see what the original was like. One of the few remasters out there where they really did make a lot of significant improvements to the game instead of just slapping it into widescreen with slightly better textures.

All the Sega games, Unreal Championship and all the mech games.
That's all a OG Xbox is good for.

Just like PS2 is Timesplitters and Stand Alone Complex.

Not too difficult. You do need a copy of that splinter cell game, an Xbox to USB cable and a USB of no greater than 8GB. There's instructions on how to do it, too arsed to link. For the 1.6, I can't find good info on swapping the hard drive to a SATA HDD without some sort of mod chip.

Many 6th gen multiplats were console only but the Xbox version was by far the best version of nearly all of them except for Metal Gear, Silent Hill and maybe the Grand Theft Auto games. So it's by far the best way to play many console only multiplats.

If you get one, you should look into modding it

If you're a fan of the 6th gen, absolutely.

These anons are totally correct. Your Xbox is your "Play anything from 6th gen in the best possible way" box. Unless the game you're wanting to play is on GOG, has had a remaster in the past generation, or has had significant modding work done to it since release, the Xbox version will be better than the PS2 or PC.

The Xbox version being better than the PS2 is pretty obvious, but the PC versions too? Yes, for a couple of reasons:

1. The PC gaming market was way different than it is today when it comes to ports. The budgets and expectations were way lower for PC ports. They would often come out well after the console game for a much lower price. Therefore, much less effort was put into these versions. Often these versions would be inaccurate or missing effects or have other issues.
2. Compatibility with today's hardware is a nightmare going from Windows XP and the hardware of 2002.

These combine to create a situation where even if your game gets running, it's really unlikely that it will be running in a way equavalent to what the developers intended in the version (PS2 or XBOX) that the developers actually spent the time and money on.
