Lots of mascot related threads on /vr/ lately. So lets maybe have another for all the less-popular mascots. Or the generally forgotten ones.

Like Bug for the Sega Saturn. It had one sequel, and both games did get PC releases. It was a novel 2D/ early 3D platformer for the Saturn. But not the greatest of platformers. It was not the game to save the Saturn.

/vr/ seems to be the 90's Sega kid coping board

What a great idea to make a mascot whose design is literally a prominent ass. That's totally not gonna make your friends laugh at you and call you a faggot when you tell them about this character and its game.
I feel bad for Saturnfags, honestly.

Nights was great though. The character never had a wide appeal.

Vimm's Lair ain't bad though. They get rid of the unnecessary cushion files in Gamecube games, which is good.

Saturn had a lot of "candidate mascots" for the console.

vimm's is literally perfect if you want to download a single rom
these anti-vimms autists are so fucking stupidly autistic that they feel superiority for simply having a romset on their hard drive

Yea Vimm's ain't bad desu. Its better than the alternative rom sites.
You know speaking on the unnecessary files in GC games. Theres a minor argument to be made.
That some of the bigger ps2/xbox games coulda made it on the cube.

I was just joking cause of the amount of Ads that it has without adblocker running or something.
I honestly don't care what site people use. Maybe i shoulda been more clear about it.

Don't forget Tomb Raider was on Saturn first but a while later was ported to PlayStation.

I'm not a huge Tomb Raider fan but if Tomb Raider stayed on the Saturn the console might have had a better chance.

I'd say the only downside of Vimm's Lair is it doesn't have any roms of less popular systems like TurboGrafx16 for example. And I don't know if I haven't explored the site deep enough but as far as I know they don't have Sega CD or Sega 32X ROMs. Hell they don't even have Xbox games. And you can only download one game at a time. But don't get me wrong I've used Vimm's Lair a lot for getting PS1, GameCube and PS3 games. With Gamecube and PS3 games it's my go-to website. Though the ultimate place to get games is Internet Archive.

You could do that yourself. It's insanely easy, and can be done in a batch against the full library in about 15 minutes.

Another downside is that it only has US releases.

Hmm. Good point.
Reminds me I was trying to look for a PS3 game that wasn't released in North America for whatever reason and I had to look on some pretty edgy looking websites just to get it. Was worth it nonetheless. Yo ho ho a pirate's life for me!
