Your ignorance is showing. The more you talk, the more obvious it becomes you aren't actually interested in talking about Zelda II--in fact, you may not have even played Zelda II in its entirety. It's obvious to anyone who actually played all three games that in making such claims all you're doing is talking out of your ass. Disparate elements combined with LttP? LttP retained no elements that were introduced in Zelda II. You're full of it.

Explain why Zelda II is so good then. The sidescrolling combat was jettisoned for a reason. It didn’t fit the series and they rightfully went back to the isometric perspective. Btw, the magic meter is the answer you failed to come up with.

The Legend of Zelda and Zelda II: Adventure of Link aren't "test runs", they're games. Good games. Zelda II in particular is almost a completely different kind of game from Zelda 1 and LttP, and many people would like to see a new Zelda game made in that style.

>durrrr see, that's how bad it is
Good point re: Link's Awakening, though. It's also worth mentioning that there was interest in a Zelda II remake within Nintendo as well. We know this not only from the recent Gigaleak but because there were interviews circa the time of OoT (and later, OoT 3D) where Miyamoto and Koizumi talked about this.

I don't think it's THAT hard. Maybe a little cryptic, way more so than the first game, in that you probably actually do need some kind of guide to help you find certain things, but the game has a fun and satisfying combat system, great music, and has you go on a fun little adventure. The challenge makes it satisfying to beat, but it's no reason to assume the posture of enjoying the game when I do genuinely enjoy it.

As an objectively true statement, some games should steal from good games. Not all games, but some. This is the process by which genres incrementally advance.
