Those games might actually not work at all in briefcases. The games were made for Super CD-ROM^2 standard, requiring additional RAM. The unlicensed system cards do not have RAM like an actual Super System Card or Arcade Card do, so the only way to run the game is to use a console with embedded extra RAM like TurboDuo.

Japan gaming was the place for stylish blood/gore (think Samurai Shodown) and stylish nudity (some of the enemies and backgrounds of CV SotN, Onimusha etc). In the late 90s early 00s there was a moral panic after some school murders which led to CERO. If you want your game on a mainstream console, nudity is banned, blood is minimal, gore has strict guidelines (decapitation/dismemberment is censored).

There's a hard split pre-and post-CERO when JP games were cool and edgy, and when they turned into neutered cartoons (starting around mid-6th gen). For example there's a Switch port of a Saturn game that was immediately blocked from the eShop because of literally one frame of cartoon nipple, a violation of CERO

Thankfully sexy (but clothed) content isn't policed very hard by CERO, which is probably why there were a ton of lewd waifu games in the 2010s, that was the only thing CERO allowed. But Sony and Microsoft, completely independent of CERO, blocked those games too. Even worse, Japanese gaming getting heavily policed for nearly 20 years hardly gets reported on by mainstream or even independent media

I feel like I should mention that the nude death animation wasn't made for Darkholme nor is it exclusive to it. Project Base was the first hack to use it since the author of that hack, Grime, created both.
That said, I'm not sure where to find it. Grime seems to have scrubbed it from Project Base and there's no downloads of the nude patch by itself anywhere that I can find after a cursory look. The recently released VITALITY uses it, so it has to be around somewhere, unless the author just had it on local archive.

What's amazing is that it wouldn't even feel like a dumb hack. Zero Mission could work 100% if Samus is left naked and has to sneak around the enemy ship until she gets her suit back. The Zero Suit exists really only to make the game more family friendly than putting her in her underwear from all the previous game endings. Strip her down and the context remains entirely unchanged and actually heightens the tension. Getting spotted and chased around during that sequence is legitimately scary.

I was able to mess with the palettes to remove the silhouette effect of the crystal flash but it still looks like she's wearing underwear. It's basically homebrew which was only spread over the net, there were no cards or something like that.
The software to create those exact slideshows you even can still download. Maybe it's on Zophar or something. I'm not exactly sure, but i think it was called something "Lions Slideshow generator" or something similar.. maybe just search for SNES slideshow creator..

Those created ROMs just were then included in the first ROM collections like the GoodTools, because Cowering basically added all to the Good-Database, even when the ROMs were completely garbage, or absolutely random tests. If he would still work on those he propably also added any iteration of generated ROM by a Randomizer.
But i don't want to talk bad about his work, he was one of the first who did this after all, and still quite good and well. Thanks for that Cowering! <3
