not all retro but it's the shit i post in these threads.

yeah, that golf game. it's like an rpg that perfectly balances arcade fun and realism. newer golf games are fun (like 2013 and '14 a lot and pga 2k21 is okay) but tiger woods '04 and '05 on consoles (not the pc versions!) are killer. i felt like '06 got cheaper and '07 they changed it up as they were focusing on the new consoles at the time.

yours star wars is super empire, but i beat super return the first time i sat with the game. not on one life or anything. but i remember spamming luke's spinning lightsaber jump a lot. i also beat link's awakening for the first time last week with the switch remake. my first time. wow those puzzles and cryptic clues...but otherwise a great game.

That game is a lot like VTMB in the sense that it sporadically jumps back and forth from being an actual 10/10 to movie-game-tier jank. Unlike VTMB instead of having production just killed one day randomly by the publisher it went through multiple different studios with completely different visions, so the end result was completely schizophrenic and full of bugs. The PC might actually have worse jank than the Xbox. I heard only one guy was on the "team" that ported the PC version. Pic related is about the development but obviously take it with a pinch of salt.

It's really hard to recommend because whats good is amazing but whats bad is steam indie asset-flip shit.

Completed DCotE about 3 years ago. I'd say it's fine in terms of atmosphere and gameplay-wise for about 2-3 first hours of playtime. The rest is totally okay to play cheats or trainer because it's clearly untested and buggy as fuck. I suffered through the last part of the game without cheating and do not recommend to do that if you're about to play this.

2/2 How much better than 3 is Uncharted 4? The third one was so boring and groan-inducing with the potty mouths on every character, basically scared me off western Gen 7 games. All I know about 4 has a grappling hook and it looks neat.

I'll admit I'm biased because I miss Naughty Dog's Crash and Jak games, 7th gen cinematic "realism" will always rub me the wrong way.

Awesome recommending Soul Blazer btw, had so much fun with that one's battle system and structure, very player-friendly game for SNES, and it has my favorite use of the "default SNES bass" in anything, ever.

So funky. If you want a rec back, you play any Goemon games? The second one on NES and first SNES ones are great starting points. That or Majuuou, Castlevania with a gun/magick, super fucked up game for SNES, low budget and short but replayable. I'll definitely check Fire and Ice, I've been told I'd like it a couple times, believe it or not.
