Also, if you're buying s-video cables, be careful. Buy used official, Monster, Hori, etc. only (in other words, a big manufacturer who normally sells at retail and has a reputation to protect). Other unknown manufacturer's cables could be wired improperly to feed composite through the s-video plug (a well-known issue among cheapo cables).

Exactly. There are 4 main shipping services here:
USPS: United States Postal Service. Usually the cheapest service unless your item is particularly large (i.e. large appliances, freight, etc.) They have flat rate boxes you can stuff anything in that ship for one rate to each country. Generally pretty reliable. YMMV.
UPS: United Parcel Service (or something like that.) Prices usually a little higher than USPS for domestic small shipments, but cheaper for hueg items. Retardedly expensive for international shipping.
FedEx: Federal Express. Primarily used for overnight documents. Not really a good option for videya.
DHL: More or less the same as FedEx. Don't even consider it. They won't ship a damn thing for less than your left testicle.
tl;dr - USPS is the only way to ship.

DHL doesn't do domestic service. It's strictly international hence why it's so expensive. It's for overnight/two day/before 9AM style international shipping. It's geared toward business consumers not typical domestic service. Fedex is almost always cheaper for large packages because they have a contract for savings with eBay/Paypal. I shipping a 40 pound box for like 35 bucks.

USPS Flat Rate boxes are the cheapest options.

Shipping carts/cds/boxes under a pound are best done via USPS First Class postage. As long as it's under 13 ounces it'll ship for no more than 4 bucks.
