Someone please help me.

I remember playing this wad looong ago, I'm 99% sure it was a Doom 1 wad, and it had this level where, I think in the middle of it, there was a pool, and at some other part of the level, there was an office with some doomcute.
Also, I remember this level that had a bunch of hallways, and in one room there were like two big circles and a Cyberdemon or two in it. Not sure if it was the same wad. Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I've been playing Hexen 2 lately and after finishing Blackmarsh on Hammer of Thyrion one question stuck in my head: "Should I switch to 4:3 aspect ratio (and software executable)?"
It feels more natural when HUDis properly extended for widescreen (like in DOOM's Unity Ports and Russian Heretic/Hexen, for exampls) or it just doesn't look bad on QuakeSpasm-Spiked where you can hide status bar on the sides since it actually bothers me: it's retarded, I know. That's why I use minimalistic HUD in Hexen 2, but still.
I guess I'm starting to slip a bit too far into purism and wanna get some thoughts from other anons here.

Last shooter I played online was CS 1.6 and CS:S like 15 years ago, but I really dislike GO and don't know where to retreat if I just want to shoot around on some fun community servers with some occasional tournaments here and there.

Playing Ion Fury right now, and I think I’m almost done with it. I enjoy it and appreciate all the craft put into it. I even look forward to the DLC.

But for some reason it feels very underwhelming. Like I don’t feel any need to replay it afterwards unlike something like Dusk, or Doom of course.

While Dusk doesn't look as good at least gameplay and soundtrack wise is so much better.

The way the level design it's done is remarkable.

Ion Fury feels more like "let's see how much stuff with this can we throw in".

Then you have Ultrakill,which gameplay-wise is the best but arguably the worst in level design.

It's the length of the levels.
In theory the connected hub-like levels would be a great way to choose when and where to replay through, but since each episode is an hour or more in length, it feels like a heavier commitment than your average episodic game with shorter levels. (I have the same problem with Quake 2.)

Doesn't help that you feel like a trapped rat underground for most of the game too.

Scythe map27 with infinite height is cancer. I got 2 keys, had about 100 monsters left and couldn't jump down from the second Cyberdemon alcove because revenants and only revenants blocked my way, and I couldn't do anything to them with my bfg. Yeah, I like the grit a bit more, but I can see where they went with Champs and its more grounded art (for some characters). Her default getup there is close enough to an actual roller derby outfit other than the extra armored chestpiece. It isn't bad at all, they just reworked it a bit, it's even got the same color scheme.

Does Anarki's grunts count as talking in Q3A? His taunt and pain sounds are all just muffled sounds, and I'm not sure if the bots' text chat counts as talking, especially in his case given he's the only bot with a colored name like players can set, constantly references video games and IIRC one of the old bios (maybe the semi-official Stomped one?) mentions him losing track of what's reality and what isn't with that VR set welded to his face. It's sorta funny how they switched augmentations in QC (Slash went from one arm and jet boots to looking totally normal, and Anarki went from pretty normal looking other than the shoulder-thing to only having one arm left period) but despite Sync's insistence on the universes being connected and whatever, it's a lot easier to just assume it's a different interpretation of the same character idea.

Ain't buffing them. The advantage they have is leaving them in places for suppressive fire or preemptive strikes, they're not meant for head on conflict. Bombs are better for that, yes, but the bombs also have limited range and require you to be there to toss them.

you will still need medkits to fix burns, but what the trauma kit does is let you fix treated wounds, which you'll get by using bandages and letting the bandaged wounds settle rather than using a medkit. using the medkit immediately converts open or bandaged wounds to treated wounds and then heals them with the pain spikes over time. the pain spikes suck because they keep your health from regenerating as quickly and mess with your ability to aim, thus, trauma kit. it's also a huge help if you use the blursphere, which automatically bandages your wounds. without the trauma kit, those wounds would build up and more or less permanently cut into your maximum HP.

so, when you get shot, instead of using the medkit, you'll use bandages to stop bleeding, then switch to the wound stabilizer (a tool you always have, same slot as bandages), apply pressure until you have no more bandaged wounds to treat (applying hemostatics speeds this up but requires managing pressure carefully), then use a trauma kit to fix up those wounds. wounds in the list will heal over time once they turn green. to do that, fix what's wrong with them. fixing a wound more thoroughly will let it heal faster, so there's a reason to do more than the bare minimum. apply two doses of anesthetic if a wound needs anything more than just closing. use saline to clean a wound and biofoam to fix tissue damage. use the forceps to remove obstructions, but they're a bit less fire-and-forget than the other tools. hold fire to hold a wound open and then press unload repeatedly to extract. if you press unload too many times, you'll cause tissue damage. avoid this by pressing unload once, releasing fire, repeating and incrementing until you get a result other than "you probe the wound". you'll need less presses as the severity of obstructions decreases.

I've played it recently and each one of them appear in a respective map.
For example Mother Demon in E4M8,which several other mods do it for some reason.

Harbing of Doom in Map 32 Grosse,which is thematically fitting.

Then the Hell Guards in some late Doom 2 map.

So far the mod feels chalked full of content and not bloated,if Kinsie and his team plans to add more weapons like the Hammer or Crucible would be just fine.

They tend to overhype the most mainstream and consumerist shit like MCU as something deep, just because of some shallow statements - just like people that think that Deus Ex 1 has a strong political message despite just being a regurgitation of popular anti-corporate cyberpunk cliches. Don't get me wrong, DX is one of my favorite games and it has the best storytelling without sacrificing gameplay, but when you compare it(or any other good video game story) to movies or books it comes out decent at best or mediocre at worst.

DX is a strange game. Sheldon the guy who wrote it is an interesting dude, and the game is half satire rambling half legit questions.

And lets be fair for a videogame it was pretty sweet.

Its funny the characters VAs are comical but the multiple lines each one has and the simple and spartan delivery makes DX feel like a mix adventure game half regular fps.

I mean writing in videogames is so weak that even low bar adventure gaming feel seeping into a fps felt different.
