>The game doesn't support a party systems, leaving player only able to control the Avatar - who is defaulted to their male version and who cannot be named.
>Both the introduction and ending have been greatly reduced in size, and are limited largely to narrative text rather than animations.
>The game world is much smaller than the original, and there are far fewer NPCs - all of whom lack daily schedules. Many characters have been replaced or altered drastically to conform to the new story, and the amount of dialogue in the game has been reduced.
>The combat system is less automated and plays similarly to many action-adventure games. To showcase this aspect of the game, a number of dungeons have been added to the world map and most plot-important items must be retrieved from them.
>The game is divided into outdoor and indoor maps, which prevents the player from using the isometric view to look inside of unentered buildings.
>The spell-casting system is streamlined such as to exclude reagents and spell purchasing, and there are only sixteen available spells instead of seventy-two. Spells not seen in the original game have also been added, such as Water Walk and Lifting.
>Conventional ship travel is not available, limiting exploration to islands which may be reached via an item known as the Magic Boat. The Moongates are also completely non-functional throughout the game.

>MechAssault takes place in the BattleTech universe, a science-fiction universe that often centers around pitched battles between human-piloted walking, heavily armed and armored machines, called BattleMechs.

are you agreeing with him or disagreeing, multiple different games can be set in the same universe
or are you claiming mechwarrior, the mech sim, is the same as mechcommander, the rts, which is the same as battletech, the tbs, which is the same as mechassault, the console tps
also weird that you never, ever see mechwarrior threads here considering how many people claim to be fans

Have you consulted the PCGamingWiki page for it yet? There's a fix for a major sound issue that people still have to this day. I haven't tried this specific one yet, but I might suggest the bundle called "Max Payne Fix It All" here: https://www.pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Max_Payne#Unofficial_patches

PS2 version isn't totally horrible. The graphics are very good for a early ps2 game, and are not far behind the pc version. The included auto aim makes the game way too easy but playing without it is virtually impossible due to the awful framerate in heavy combat areas. There's no quicksave either as mentioned, but the game has more checkpoints than the pc version since the game needs to seperate levels with more load screens, so I'd say it evens out. Some of the levels slightly differ from the pc and xbox version because of this. In the first subway level there's no shower room for example. I'd say the ps2 version is worth playing if you're a fan of janky ps2 era shooters.
