Quack Shot and this was the first Mega Drive games I ever played, look next-gen as fuck compared to the NES at the time.

It has a really cool dark grungy art direction all the way through to the ear-rape use of the FM sound chip, but it's just not a fun game to play and that's really sad considering it's cool aesthetics.

Similar games on the Mega Drive that pulls off controls a bit better is Blades of Vengeance and Galahad.

It's a pretty decent game from Westwood Studios if you play it more like an adventure game rather than the Zelda clone it looks like.

This game REALLY benefits from using composite + CRT shaders if you're going to emulate it, the raw pixels just makes it look ultra bland and not like it did on OG hardware.

Quarantine (1994) for the PC, a cyberpunk game that's a cross between Carmageddon and Crazy Taxi where you drive around in pretty big city maps for the time.

Jurassic Park (1993) by Ocean for the PC, it's a 2D isometric action adventure with 3D FPS sections going into buildings. If you enjoyed the SNES game this has the same formula, but does everything better so you will definitively like this one too.

William Shatner's TekWar (1995) for the PC is a futuristic mission based first-person shooter that's a little bit like Strife with a twist of proto-Deus Ex.

I got this from the bargain bin at my video rental store really cheap in 97, I've never completed it and the best part about playing it is imagining what it COULD have been as there is a lot of potential in it's ideas but the execution just never quite delivers. TekWar also had a TV series and straight-to-VHS movies based on Shatner's TekWar books, I found those to be a rather OK watch if you're into early 90s sci-fi TV.

It's at least least worth checking out as there are some cool ideas in the game for the time.

It's not exactly good but the story is genuinely hilarious at times. I found the game to be worthwhile. But it does need a patch that some guy who worked on it made after it was released. The patch fixes some bugs or something and also (crucially) adds a speedup button like what emulators often give you. You can use this button to fix the JRPG-ness of the game. It's also good for running through large areas when you're just backtracking or whatever and don't feel the need to pointlessly watch your dude go through his running animation for another thirty seconds.

They kinda fell on their face with the battle systems, but you can see they were really trying to make something good. The game has a lot of heart.

I'm currently using decade old Memorex discs, I haven't had any issues with them on my PS2 playing PS1 backups, however there was a bit of an issue with my Saturn, most likely being the laser (If you're going to pirate shit for that console then just get an ODE, I regret fucking around with Pseudo Saturn).
People usually recommend this fancy brand called Taiyo Yuden, it's probably your safest bet but I don't think it'll do wonders.

Just watched a video of the English fan patch. Rushed feels like the right word. The events of the plot (at least from what I saw) advance very quickly and sometimes borderline nonsensically. Finding the proper way to advance the story also seems tedious, as the world looks filled with loads of empty dressing that does little to actually worldbuild, making it one of those games where you kind of just have to wander around and stumble upon the right thing to do. A shame because I agree, there's a cool (if clichéd) foundation here, and I'm a sucker for that 90's anime aesthetic.

Space Fishermen. Discovered a translated demo on a demo disc.
Art is done by spumco, the studio found by John K of Ren and Stimpy fame, which is why I'm really surprised it didn't make it to the US, which I will forever mourn.
It's fun as hell; a mix of fishing, pokemon style collecting, using previous catches as bait to catch bigger stuff, and mini game style catching that make the OG Mario party look like a saint when it comes to destroying your hands.
For the latter reason, I don't know if I could handle it these days, especially after wrist surgery. I got about halfway through using a broken Engrish guide and translate on my phone camera, but got lost when I came back after a long break.

This one is so obscure that I'm wondering if I dreamt it.
It was a computer game, I'm pretty sure for mac. I played it when I was 3 or 4 in the mid 90s. You played as some explorer guy who looked like an Indiana Jones knockoff. You're in a prehistoric area with dinosaurs and cavemen that want to kill you. I specifically remember that you start near an egg that hatches into a hostile dinosaur, and the cavemen spawn from some cave that you can enter but the camera doesn't follow you in, making it a death trap. Dying causes your head to pop off with a spring.
I've tried to find the name of this game numerous times but I can't. I just end up getting Bonk or another famous caveman game. If this game actually exists, then I mighy truly be the only one who played it.
