What do you think of this series? I've been playing it and the PS sequel and they are both very good. I like how there are different ways to approach the levels and if you are good, there are much shorter paths to take. The music does the job and there are a few memorable ones from the SFC game, but I don't think the PS version's OST is anything out of the ordinary. As far as graphics go, I think that the original's graphics are charming and that while the sequel's took a little bit for me to get used to, it looks very pretty.
There is a lot of complexity for such an apparently simple game and I still haven't learned all the peculiarities of the fishing line physics. A bonus is that the games are quite difficult imo.

Great games. Once the controls click you can do some impressive things, and it can be really satisfying. I can't think of any other SNES game that has a physics engine that complex.

Was playing some UH SNES earlier, actually. The mood and music are absolutely delightful, i can seriously picture a little japanese bro getting up early and playing this on the living room's CRT with the volume on low.

I can't into the physics though, farthest i can go is like Field 15.

Just keep trying. I was like that but now I have gotten most of the end fields completed. I have only one left but where I think it is located is a bitch to get to.

Will do, bro. I also love how the official art is both ridiculously cute and sexy.

Reminds me of how fucking expensive pretty much every version is, except for the broken and unplayable PSP one. Truly wish i could find a CIB SNES copy for under $100 or UK Shun for under $40 or so. Any word if this is actually cheaper in Japan?

The big tadpole boss is such a huge piece of shit. I thought I was done with him in the first game but no, the first boss I encountered in the sequel had me face two of them at once. If they bring it back in Sayonara, I'll be pissed. Speaking of that game, it is supposed to be localized. How exciting!

Couldn't really get the hang of it, and didn't want to bother because of the time limit.

The individual field time limit isn't anything to worry about imo. The only thing you have to watch out for it to not go above 30 minutes.

Jesus christ, that face combined with that bust and dem legs, how did they do so much cute and sexy in the same picture?

Beats me, man.

>>753534
Don't worry about the time limit. The fields themselves have more than enough time, and this game is kinda meant to be played in short bursts anyway.

The cheapest of the series that isn't the psp version that I can find is $70 ds version new on Amazon.

There's a CIB copy of the first on ebay for $90, seems to be in pretty good condition... but i recently bought a dreamcast and still have way too much stuff to buy short term to afford plunking down $100 on a single game like that. I don't even have a SNES.

I also just found the PS1 game on that site for $50. Sadly, it is the original version with the advertising and less fields.

I don't really mind that, second version is inhumanly expensive, but $50 is still kinda too much. But thanks bro!
