They did improve the translation and graphics. But I agree, the story wasn't as good and I missed the randomly generated dungeons. They also rehashed most of the music from the first game because it was developed and released in less than a year after the first game.

I hated Eugene's "Endliche Waffe" attack when you get him down to the last 1/4 of his HP. I paid off all of Mag's debt but I didn't do it for the new game + in 2.

It has a worse translation than the DC version because the text has to be compressed even further. I've messed around with it for about an hour in emulator.

Yea, that's what happened. It was like the entire time, Ryudo was really reluctant and sarcastic throughout the game, and then the end comes and Ryudo's all about friendship, love, and conquering evil in the name of justice.

Cannon Spike, Evolution, E.G.G, Cool Cool Toon, Rez, Propeller Arena, Demolition Racer, Metropolis Street Racer, Napple Tale are all solid though. As are those sweet sweet shmups, like Triggerheart Exelica, Twinkle Star Sprites [2 player vs shmup! Like a puzzle game where the more stuff you kill the more you throw at your enemy, you can tennis waves of shit to shoot] Castle Shikigami II, Under Defeat, Gunbird 2, Mars Matrix, Psyvariar, Border Down etc.

I think the DC is a good example of how a niche console can give a series the audience it deserves. If these games were for PS1 or PS2 far fewer people would know about them.

I think it's because of the small library in general. Dreamcast didn't have a particularly expansive library, but the library it did have was really spread out between a lot of different genres. Sure it was a little more on the heavy side when it came to Fighting games a shumps, but every other genre had an equal spread of games. Like you mentioned, the PS was extremely RPG heavy, where the Dreamcast really only had a handful.

He would later go and delete dozens of pictures and posts to stay under the bump limit, including posts which were parts of active conversations. It took a massive overnight effort to finally overwhelm him. He ended up deleting about 400 of his own posts, and we STILL had to push the thread to 800 undeleted replies to make sure that he didn't own enough posts to dip himself back under the bump limit. It was the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Nobody could figure out why he was doing it or how exactly to report it. I'm currently playing it and overall, I don't think it's really all that bad. The camera is god-awful, and the graphics are extremely dated, but it's a really interesting take on RPGs and the monster raising aspect is kind of fun.

Tech Romancer, it's my favorite fighter on the DC.

It has several kinds of giant robots, a pretty cool Story Mode and you can fight with Jin Saotome's mecha from Cyberbots.

Tech Romancer is the bee's knees. Watching your opponent explode after beating them never gets old.

Also, it has a surprising amount of depth to the gameplay. Not really a pick up and play kind of game too much, but when everyone's got the basics down, the game makes for some really fun bro-nights.
