Why are your hands so small that you have to complain about a big comfy controller built for big hands?

>> No.7467087

They went with the cheapest manufacturer they could, and the motherboards that manufacturer built for the controllers were fucking huge.

This is a meme. I'm a lanket and can confirm it's too bulky.

Height has nothing to do with it, handlet

>> No.7467312

They had an existing board that the controller had to be designed around. At the time they didn't have access to a manufacturer of layered PCBs.

I don't think I'm a handlet. Still unable to press those black and whiteface buttons comfortably. It's too damn big.

I mostly prefer it for emulation. The positioning of the white and black buttons is ideal for fighters compared to the further out of line position of the S controller. Being too big is a meme. If you prefer to use the shoulder buttons as your 5th and 6th buttons, the position is still better for emulation because it's harder to press by accident than those on the S controller, making them better for mapping emulator function like save states or turbo.

It has two real problems. First, the positioning of the start and back buttons is awkward, which I blame for the meme that it's too big. They should either be higher up or off to the side like the S controller. Second, the D-Pad is an abomination. The ones I use for emulation have been modded with the D-Pad from the S controller, which while still awful is better.

If you use your xbox as an emulation machine, they are great controllers. For actual Xbox games, your mileage may vary.

when i was a little baby shit, the Duke was much too meaty for me and I had to use the S. But as a big boy, I actually think the Duke is pretty comfy as fuck. I can deffeintly see why they switched to the S, but the original is great also

It was based on the Dreamcast controller, which was already pretty big.
